I don't think offering something to the people on the front line, in light of there sacrifice and offering a little to people who are trying to protect society and care of a greatful nation...

Is it that big a deal, that we SAY THANK YOU... TO My, YOURS AND EVERYONE'S MARVELOUS NHS.

This is a very simple gesture to say thankyou..... Anyone that offers any small gesture, deserves a mention in my book.

Anyone who does not agree then I feel needs to stay quiet, for the time been.

Having companies quit sucking up to the NHS yet?

As an nhs nurse I feel rather hurt by this. We’ve sacrificed so much over the years and never wanted anything in return. We still don’t. If someone or a company wishes to express gratitude for everything we’ve gone through since the nhs was made then that’s a lovely gesture. Have some compassion.

Do you happen to work on the frontline or working in labs testing tissues etc. where there is still no PPE?

These guys are risking their lives on a daily basis and if they are offered benefits to alleviate the pressures then brilliant!

I'd like a NHS exclusive option if possible, so I don't get alerts as they are not relevant for me. But I'd still like companies to offer free stuff to NHS even if it is for narfarious reasons such as self promotion as they do deserve it.
I'm in the minority I guess, along with @m3lv3, it's gone far enough now with free this and that for the NHS. We have established now that yes they are risking their lives (the actual number on the covid front line are a small percentage of NHS employees) but they have not experienced the massive rush and panic that was predicted so can we just stop the freebies and good deals?

I completely agree with NHS staff getting a shopping hour to themselves, as their working hours are all over the place, but why do they need 20% off their weekly shopping, free insurance addons, and a free PlayStation 4 game (random deal 2 weeks ago).
NICE ONE!!! Extra extra!!! BRING BACK HOWARD!!!

Is this like all these banks adverts on TV stating that the banks are so charitably on your side? They almost make me tearful realising how loving these banks are to their customers. Marketing for the fools.
These NHS things are annoying me now. Yes NHS are on the frontline etc, but not all NHS staff are, i.e. admin working behind the scenes etc. However in my eyes ALL key workers should get benefits. You still have police and fire fighters doing their jobs. Police currently dealing with ASBO related offences and the current so called peaceful protests. Firefighters dealing with the fires stated by disposable BBQs being left in woodland etc. Then other key workers, working in shops and getting shouted at and receiving abuse because they don't have stock, or because they are limiting the quantity of items people are buying because of the people who panic purchased. The lorry drivers up and down the nation making sure you get everything. In my eyes all key workers matter.

It is just a cheap marketing ploy for the fools. Are these not the same banks that screwed every single one of us a few years back (and continue to do so) key workers or not?

Cheap marketing for the banks. Free stuff for NHS. Everyone wins.

How will most companies verify you are a key worker? NHS is easy due to work email addresses.

I go 5-7 weeks at a time without seeing my children because I work for the NHS in a high risk position. I don’t feel entitled to freebies and extras but while they keep coming I’ll be grateful.

*more recognition for other essential/key workers needed I reckon.
