Free Pirates of the Carribean Box set - Galaxy S II @ Vodafone
I just upgraded my contract to a Galaxy S 2 and they told me they were starting a deal where they offer a free pirates of the carribean box set with the phone!

All good!

I myself was upgrading on a 35quid iPhone contract.

Might need a bit more info?

As it stands most phone shops (Internet and store) offer free item's, such as PS3, TV's etc. Its the overall package that might make a deal. I.e. what phone, spec, minutes, network, texts, mb, per month, contract length, Pirates on DVD, Blu ray? etc etc.

As it stands Pirates on blu ray as a trilogy is under 20 quid.

Need more info mate otherwise it's going to get rather cold.

And the winner of the most random upgrade incentive is.......

No reason to vote cold i have no details of the offer other than i was offered it!

Something to ask for if anyones upgrading or buying tbh.

So you signed a contract costing you at least £650

funy i make 35 * 18 £630

If you paid more attention in school, you'd probably be able to afford nicer things these days.

funny .. I make £630 not "free".

£630 to get a tenners worth of dvd's lol

I thought most people had worked this out by now but nothing is "free" when you take out a mobile phone contract, not the handset, not any "free" gift; it's all subsidised by the overall cost of the contract. I personally don't know what a good contract for this phone is so won't vote, but I imagine that the OP could've bartered for a much better deal, especially as upgrading from an expensive iPhone contract, if he/she hadn't been blinded by a £20 free gift. But then that's why mobile network providers offer these "free" things.

I didnt get blinded by a free gift.

I phoned to get a new phone, and the operator just said i was getting a free box set.

Stop assuming everyone on this site is an idiot. I feel getting this phone for free at 35 quid on 18 months is a decent deal tbh since at O2 its 50 quid and 37 a month. for half the internet allowance.

To be honest this isn't much of an incentive for what is an expensive contract, and not much of a deal.
Cold.

If someone is looking to upgrade then they should look closer at what else is out there.
TalkMobile (Vodafone network) do this phone for £109 up front, £30 per month for 12 months, for 400 mins.
That's 360 + 109 = 469.
I could buy a few boxed sets with the change from your deal AND get an upgrade sooner.

Just because I'm pointing out that your deal isn't that good doesn't make ME an idiot.
Thanks for playing

To be fair, a £35/pm contract with a Pirates boxset is better than a £35/pm contract with no boxset. But it's not really a deal.

Having said that, I might try asking for something totally random next time I sign up for something. Can I get a free handbag with that MOT? Or a cactus when I renew my broadband? Or a Parker pen when I sign up for 50+ life cover? Oh, wait...

If your contract is that good why did you rush to post the free gift as a deal but not the whole contract arrangement itself? And anyway as a deal I think a £20 DVD set is a near meaningless financial gesture when paying for a £600+ contract. No-one is going to rush out and buy your or a similar contract because it has a free £20 DVD gift. & why would a mobile phone provider offer you something extra if you weren't paying for it in some way? It's simple economics. Plus your comparisons to the first time O2 contracts don't mean as much by comparison as you imply they do becuause your contract was an upgrade offer after a significant iPhone contract. Sorry if my frankness offends you.

I've never said this before, but here goes:

LOL!

I COULD be wrong with this but im presuming that the pirates box set will be a free gift to download, similar to the 3 free movies and 3 free games samsung offered with the original galaxy s?

Hope you enjoy the films.

I have issues with ignorance.

This offer is with the phone anyway not the contract.

And for some Ignorance is most definitely bliss....
