If you intend to buy this on Google STORE GET THE 2TB PLAN FOR £8 a month

You have to keep it for 30+ days to get the 10% credit so will need 2 months so £16 cost but you get 10% back in google credit, so a 7 pro will net you £85, or if you're like me buying 2 £170 in credit, subscription can be cancelled after 2 months i did this trick last year on the 6 pro
If you are on three mobile, you can get a free 3-month trial for google ONE basic plan, which you can convert into 49 days of the 2tb plan. So no need to spend £8.

I did all these for pixel6 they did not honour it and were miserable to deal with about it... Don't bank on it I'm afraid

Google Store is not down as a participating retailer. Is that an oversight? It was listed last year for the Bose 700 promo. Or Google Store not running promos any longer?
Please note: If you made your purchase through the Google Store, your reward will be shipped to you automatically. There's no need to submit a claim.

@merb0786 @MrSwitch I don't know if this is worth adding to the top of this post, the LTE pixel watch will only work on EE or Vodafone, this is because it only supports LTE band 7 in the UK.

3G band support is 900 & 2100, but with 3G being switched off in the UK by the end of next year, the only supported mobile frequency will be GSM or 4G LTE band 7.

While an O2 SIM will register there's no mention of EDGE support for data to work.
Will Lebara work with them using the Vodafone network?

I'd be all over this IF photos unlimited were brought back.

Until then, I'll be holding on to my pixel 5
I actually bought an old pixel 1 on eBay for £35 for the unlimited photo storage. I just transfer everything onto it, then upload from there.

I can't believe the specs on the SOC

    Primary cores the same 2 x - X1 ( 2020) with a 0.05 ghz increase.

    Secondary cores the same
    2 x A77 (2019) 0.10 ghz increase
    4X A55 (2017) no change
GPU improved to the one found on the Dimensity 9000 (2021)

This is very old hardware which is now midranged at best and nowhere near being based on any of the recent Exynos SOC's as people keep saying.

I won't be looking at one of these unless I can get a half price deal like on the 6a. (edited)
I think Google could have gone premium with the pixel, but for whatever reason they won't. I used the pixel 6 pro, and my word the lag was terrible and also faced super slow charging speed. Best decision ever, was to sell that phone.

Ok, so for those on the fence of buying before free gift offers expires tomorrow, here's my first 12 hour impressions from a P30 Pro upgrade:

    >Only slightly bigger physically
    >Really enjoy the haptic feedback feel
    >Screen is gorgeous and bright
    >Signal strength seems about the same
    >Super smooth UI - not a single stutter
    >Fingerprint sensor faster than P30 Pro, face unlock is decent as well
    >Installing android updates reaaaally slow for some reason
    >Speakers much louder and more bass, really liking audio quality
    >Charging is slower with all the fancy adaptive stuff turned on, but honestly not that bad, unless you are in a mega rush
    >Does get noticeably warm
    >Pixel cameras win in all but low light selfie mode, which seems much better on P30 Pro. Dont use HDR for low light photo/video - very noisy
    >P30 Battery life is definitely better, going by half day experience.
    >Pixel camera drained 15% of battery within 25mins of sampling photo/video, not continous recording

I like it so far, especially all the native built in Google AI tricks and life enhancements. Allegedly, battery will get quite a bit better as it learns usage patterns, which is currently my only real disappointment.

I wouldn't spend £850 on it, as Xiaomi have some fierce competition at that price, but the launch offer makes it around £500 with trade in, which is totally worth the upgrade, in my opinion. Even if you start disliking it or a new shiny thing comes out in nezt 12 months, you will likely break even when selling on.

Just thought I would update my earlier comment about cases. I have got the Hazel P7P. So wanted something that goes along with that color scheme/ the gold camera bar.

I decided to skip on the Spigen cases, they are so very "bland" imo. Mostly all black and/or don't look appealing especially ones such as "rugged armour".

But didn't want to sacrifice the grip (very important as it is a big phone) + protection

I found two other case companies that seem to be recommended quite well on reddit....CYRILL and Caseology on amazon.

Cyrill is a sub brand of Spigen so seem to offer the same level of protection just in more "appealing" cases.

Although Cyrill seem to do the sole single case -> CYRILL by Spigen Stone Case Compatible

Caseology does more cases for the P7P

    1. Nano (not many color options as seem to just be a plain color case with no grips etc)
    2. Parallax (more color options and some grip offered on side and back)
    3. Athlex (Seem to offer the most grip due to the design of the back and material used but don't like the colored camera cutouts)

Youtube videos are also available on all these cases.

I decided to go for the CYRILL "Kale" color case + Caseology Parallax Sage Green cases.

I think they will be the closest to the original green color of the Hazel P7P, and the cases seem to offer good grips and protection.

I ordered two cases to see which one I like most and I'll return the other one. I think they offer equal protection and grip to the Spigen cases based on my research, but just look more "appealing" which is subjective I know.

Anyway thought I would help people who are not sure on which cases. (edited)
Nano does have grips on it in the same place as all the other Caseology ones (using one now).

Donno if it's phone or Android specific but in my old P30 pro notifications were different. My work slack used to generate a different notification sound, Facebook, WhatsApp different and then ring motion notifications a different sound. On my new Pixel 7 pro, all notification sounds are the same. Quite annoying as I can't understand which is important work notification and which is useless Facebook like just from the notification sound alone.
Settings>Notifications>App settings>Switch view to "all apps" as it may be on "most recent" by default>Tap on individual app name or icon, but not the toggles>Tap on the relevent part under the "Other" section>Sound

You should be able to customise the notification sounds from here (edited)

Just a heads-up, if you want to use the watch LTE functionality, you'll need a main mobile plan from EE or Vodafone only

Yes. I'm on giffgaff so I'll be leaving that feature turned off for the time being! Still, future-proofing and resale value considered...

Gotten an email saying my order has been dispatched, but the pending payment has disappeared from AMEX, maybe I’m getting the phone for free?
The pending can just be an authorisation - but it still comes off the balance on debit cards. They then "time out" after 7 days or so if it doesnt change to completed when the real transaction happens. So it disappearing doesnt mean its cancelled.

If you order from Amazon for instance it stays on the balance even after you cancel until it disappears after 7 days. Some places seem to re-authorise pre-orders every few days but maybe not Google. (edited)

Just got email saying my order will be delivered tomorrow...
Yes this order is from Google. Nothing from Curry's yet.

I wonder how difficult its going to be to claim the watch? I hope it isn't out of stock in minutes.

When will the phone start shipping out?
If you ordered from Google Store it'll be the easiest as you don't have to submit a claim
  14. Avatar
OK, so tried a few photos and tbh I'm really not blown away by the camera - could have been spoiled by the Huawai P30 Pro?

The stock camera app. is very primitive, with only 0.6x,1x, 3x and 5x zoom levels whereas on the P30 Pro I can go ultra wide to 50x in whatever step I want.

Pixel peeping at 1:1 can't see any advantage over what I have - early days, but the camera is no huge leap over the Huawai P30 Pro....
Huawei cameras were just different level. Nothing I've had since comes close to my mate 20 pro
  15. Avatar
This is the Pixel 7 Pro next to my Huawai P30 Pro which was a super £270-ish O2 refresh bargain posted here around 3 years ago.

Tbh as this was 3x the price and 3 years later I'm really underwhelmed at the mo....

Will give it a few more days as my main interest is photograph, but I think its fair to say things have no advanced much in 3 years?
In terms of looks, phones have been the same for years. It's all about what's under the hood and the software experience. Especially when it comes to the camera software

Bought a Pro from Very. Thanks. Quidco hasn't tracked yet, but I'll chase that tomorrow.

How do I claim the watch?
  17. Avatar
Avoid Currys at all costs, I spent 4 hours store to store, the most incompetent & frustrating experience of all time, at one point o thought they are intentionally pretending to be stupid but no really that bad.

I could go on to share the experience but literally it will take 500 to 1,000 to describe the bad experience.
I wish I had listened to others to avoid it but I won't make the mistake again.
I had a trade in hence why it was such a bad experience if you are buying without a Trade-in it won't matter.
    Welcome to my world buddy.
We are in the same boat.

    I don't get the hype,
The CPU is a few generation behind, more like a middle tier CPU.
The GPU is also has the lowest spec possible only 7 cores.

Any new flagship phone near in the future like s23, going to be at least 50% faster than pixel 7 in terms of benchmark..

It's a flagship phone with middle tier cpu..
Ok ok we get it. If you're playing Top Trumps it's not for you.

Meanwhile, anyone that that actually uses it will largely enjoy the Pixel experience.

Damn Google you've dragged me back in again.

Used that discount for teachers 10% code and upgraded my Google One service to the 2tb for one month so with a trade in of my standard 128gb Pixel 6 I've got the 7 Pro, the LTE watch and £75 google store credit for just under £500. I think that's pretty good value
You'll need to keep the 2tb Google one for 2 months I believe - until the credit is actually in your Google account.

Went for the Pixel 7 from Carphone Warehouse via Topcashback for the £40 cashback plus extra £100 trade in credit on a bricked Pixel 3a which was just sitting in a draw waiting to be thrown out.

£599 purchase price - £108 trade in - £40 cashback - £125 from selling the earbuds - £100 from selling my current Pixel 3a XL
= £226 for a brand new quality phone which takes excellent pictures and will get 5 years of security updates.

Despite the faffing around I'm well happy as I haven't owned a brand new phone in years and I can actually justify this purchase to myself (and the Mrs)!

Has anyone found a good screen protector for the regular 7 that's readily available in the UK?

I've not used one before so I'm not sure what's good or bad
Spigen one is great for Pixel 6 and fingerprint sensor works like a charm, I still use it today. If there's a Spigen one available for Pixel 7 I would give it a try
  25. Avatar
I've decided to send my P7 pro back. Main reason is due to poor coverage with the new ID mobile contract and having to switch back to to my current EE sim, but I've also decided the pro is just too damn big for me. Really liked the cameras and screen but day to day it would weigh me down! Have ordered the regular P7 with the discounted watch instead (edited)
Some of the reviews I have seen, they have recommended the regular 7 over the Pro as a very good overall package...
  26. Avatar
So I have been using my 7 for 3 days and I am ok with it so far. I came from OnePlus 8T. Here are my thoughts.
Material they used is good. I have picked the white one so the fingerprints ans smudges don't show up. The metal frame and the sides are brushed thank God. The phone is not that wide so it is easy to grip.
Design is unique. I am digging it. When I hold the phone my fingers always rest on that camera bar's edge.
Size and weight is perfect. Not to big or small, not to heavy or light.
The screen size is good. 1080P but it is enough for a phone. Sharp, crispy, vivid.
Speakers are load. One of the best speakers on a phone I have ever used.
Battery surprised me. It is smaller than the Pixel 6's but for some reason it holds up better. Easily a day and a half phone for me. Similar to my OnePlus 8T.
Software, what can I say. Pure Google. Simple, fresh, no bloatware. Just what I like. Minimal. Finally a good support.
Pixels are the easiest phones to flash. Replace the OS with something else like Graphene, Calyx, Lineage is very easy.
    Regular updates on time.
Price is good as well considering we are living in a world where a £1000 is normal (not in my world).
More options to find good case or screen protectors for this phone.
No charger. Thx Apple to start this trend.
Don't like when all the buttons are in the same side. Hard to put the phone in a clipping car mount. I have to place the clippers at the bottom.
No jack, thx Apple again your courage.
No card reader (I know it has never been on Pixels)
    No notification led
These were not a big deals but I still wanted to mention them but these:
No zoom camera, no 120Hz. Remember the old days when the XL Pixels has the same cams. This days Pro gets everything. Thx to copying Apple.
Only 3 years of Android updates. Come on Google?! That is just bad.
This phone is very slippery. Case and screen protector is a must have. I would be much happier with a rubberised back instead of this glass.
Can't remove the search bar from the bottom of the screen...why Google? Its like in Windows you can not get rid of Bing. They just pushing on us even if you don't like it.
I am not a fan of Google apps. Try to limit and replace them with some open source apps but without those apps especially the Google with assistant enabled the phone is very limited. Many features just don't work. They didn't say it in the reviews and on the stage when they announced it. They mentioned machine learning and on device processing but 90% of the time it requires Google app and the assistant.
If you guys asked me why I bought it when I don't like Google apps my answer is because of the cons. Don't matter what phone we buy there is always a sacrifice to make. I made mine hope it was a good decision.
I miss from my OnePlus 8T the settings. So many options and things you can customize. The biggest thing I miss from my 8T is the ability to completely block apps to go online (firewall) without installing any 3rd party apps and o control what icons appear on the top of the screen.
A bit smaller screen size like 6 inches would have been better.
Overall I am happy with this phone and definitely going to use it for a very long time.
I can easily recommend this to anyone.
Any idea what is the best screen protector for the 7 pro??

If camera was one of the reasons you've bought this phone, you will not be disappointed.

The camera was one of the main reasons - I'll compare it to my P30 Pro which is going on 3 years old but still great.

Probably will put up some test shots vs. the P30 Pro later if anyone is interested.

Annoyingly the Hazel 256gb 7 Pro is out of stock already

If you're a Google Maps reviewer, ie you leave reviews for places you've visited, check your inbox from the past month. They sent me a voucher for 15% off anything in the Google store. (edited)
Doesn't work on the pixel 7 pro already gave it a try. Would only discount the watch not the phone but then the total is over 1200

To all. If you still want to buy from Google Store then all LTE Watches apart from Black are available to buy so add one to your basket. Then add a 7 Pro and you will get the watch for free. They have 256GB in White too as well as all in 128GB.

Don't forget TCB at 5% with Plus account and 2TB Google One Plan for 10% Google Store Credit 30 days after purchase .
If this is the case, I am getting one tonight. Held off and was gutted when I found out that the watch was out of stock.

Right I'm in. £483 for a white 7 from Very minus whatever I get back from Quidco (12%). I'll probably keep the Bud Pros. Was tempted to cash in on the Pixel Watch with a 7 Pro but the phone is def too big for my needs. Once I sell my 6 that'll be not very much to upgrade to the 7 with great noise cancelling buds included. Deal
I can say having moved from a P6 to a P7P, THE SIZE IS MANAGABLE...

That said, I haven't put it in my pocket yet
