Update - requires purchase, so not free, expired.

Quite a few people have had an eye test to find out they weren't given their pd measurement. If requesting this after the appointment some opticians even go as far as charging for this information, If purchasing lenses online you will definitely need this bit of information before ordering.

The good thing is, Tesco offer this for free, via their website. All you need is a webcam.

And if you didn't already know, as said a million times already on here, Tesco offer a free eye test (not contact lense test), everybody is eligeable.

Quote from link.

"Pupillary distance is a measurement we use to ensure that the focal centre of your glasses is fitted perfectly for you. We measure the distance between your eyes and use the middle of your nose as a reference point.

Your PD measurement is taken when you place your order. The following steps will help you to carry out your own PD test online, using this simple tool. We will take three photographs with your webcam. Once you are happy with the photos click continue and they will be used to measure the distance between your eyes.

What you will need

All you need is your Clubcard or a credit/debit card with magnetic strip (for measurement, not billing), PC/laptop and a webcam. Then simply follow the easy on screen instructions."

'Your PD measurement is taken when you place your glasses order'.
Is that before or after you've entered any payment details?

Only just realised!

Mod please expire, this isn't a freebie as it requires you to purchase beforehand.

PAYMENT REQUIRED - Yup oO

I looked back in my emails as I had done a PD measurement, unfortunately that company has now ceased trading

I saw this method of determining your PD at another site and thought it was a scam to get your security number from the back of your credit card...just shows how cynical I've become.
