Not anymore

How much is half price? A price per Kg (alleged before price and sale price) would have been more helpful.

No - they eat worms and the like.

Don't be silly, with around 2000 chickens per shed /per pen the pens
don't have any grass in them, let alone any worms and other insects.

People have this image of free range where the animal are roaming around
in a lush field, they are more often than not on bare ground, and they rarely
venture out of the shed in which they are kept, when they do venture out they
just mill around by the sides of the sheds then go back in.

And for that the supermarkets can charge double the price, when the conditions
are no better than that of barn raised chickens.

Don't be silly, ...

As a sometime non-intensive livestock farmer (including layers and growers) with an awareness of various production methods (including broilers), I consider a little intentional silliness preferable to an apparently complete lack of any sense of humour.
