how much a bin lid for 34 quid

I had a brabantia bread bin and it broke emailed them a picture of it and they sent me a new one, with the bonus of a set of canisters inside. It has to be under ten years old.

It does state that in the OP.

I've lost my receipt for it, would I still be eligible for this?

Did you not read the OP's 'Description' saying that a receipt was irrelevant ..... :-)

U need product code

Wish I'd known this before I left my bin with a broken lid behind when I sold my house. Live and learn.

No you don't, just tick the bottom box on that page where it asks for it. I didn't enter one.

It didn't ask me for my receipt. I bought my bin about 8 years ago from Amazon and it still let me order a lid.

No, you don't, on the page where it asks you for it, scroll down a little and there is a box saying tick if you don't have a code (or something like that), tick it and move on to the next page. Then the price will go to nothing.

Brilliant, just bought two on the B&Q deal, so this will come in handy down the line.

Is the B&Q deal nationwide, do you know?

Website states to claim - When you claim warranty you agree with the following:
- You are in the posession of the proof to purchase
- You will keep the original (broken) part for at least 4 weeks (in case we need it for further investigation of the defect)

bit risky, as I have no POP, and have lobbed my broken lid

I got my bin from Amazon in 2008 for the bargain price of £25. Spring is a bit dodgy in the lid, thx OP, have claimed for a new one

I haven't got a POP, but it still let me order even though it does state I need to have it. I can't see how they can police this. I have received an order confirmation e-mail, and think they will send me a replacement. My lid only broke today, so I can keep it for 4 weeks. Is it not worth a try?

That's approx. when I got mine. It was in the January sales at Amazon. It's lasted well.

Yup £10 off 50l and two tiny ones. POP not a problem as all that is in Amazon order history

The B&Q deal is nationwide but it seems different prices per store, from £15 to £30 with £20 being the most common (Stockport)

years after we bought it, our bin's hinges cracked and we claimed on warranty...
we had to send our broken lid back to them, didn't need PoP, they paid for postage, we got a new bin lid within about 8 days.

Our 50 litre bin is 7 or 8 years old, the small cover that holds the catch in place went missing - I emailed to see if they had the cover and they sent a complete new lid free of charge - excellent customer service.

Thanks OP,

Will check lid for code when I get home (I know people have posted you don't need it but it won't hurt to look)

splendid mines broke and now ordered a new one. thanks

got a whole new lid last yr when I discovered this by accident. was about to chuck the bin out as no use without lid.

Nice one OP been without a lid for ages just ordered a replacement cheers

We got a replacement lid about a year ago without any problems as ours had broke after about 8 years (the hinge on the replacement was a better more sturdy design). Top class service and a quality product.

Ordered..heat added

sorry
just proof read it I meant my comment the other way round but my bad English shows otherwise. I meant to say

'Your post is about the rubbish bins vwscottie, beckhithe is talking about Bread bins..'

I have been putting up with my bin lid that doesn't open properly for so long. I had never thought to get a new one under the warranty. Mine is 12 years old. Ordered one anyway and hope they don't ask for PoP...

Just ordered, Thank you

Good find OP, heat added.

As said before, hope they don't ask for PoP, as mine is a look-alikey and I'm hoping this will fit, I suppose the worst that can happen is they ask for the money or return the item, they can have it back. Haha.

Did this a couple of years back when ours broke. I didn't have any prove of purchase and I estimated that the bin was probably at least 6 years old at that point. They sent me a replacement no problem.
