I have done this already and its quite simply £1.50 for free that you can use on any online purchase, well worth doing and revolut has been really good so far.

Revolut are giving away a free Revolut card with free postage, and also £1.50 in free credit.

- Sign up via the link with your mobile number, download the app, add mobile number and create your pin.

- instantly you get the £1.50 which you can use from the virtual card, no need to even make the first deposit they ask for.

- Go to cards, select the basic card and select the FREE DELIVERY option.

That sounds great, BUT I've ordered 2 cards (1 on the 1st of this month) and never got the £1.50.
The links posted goes to the home page of Revolut.
Where can I find the information on this benefit?
How does this work. If I spend money on amazon France would I be charged to use this card. Do I have to pay money in to use the card like a top up. Can I link it with any bank card or Paypal so if I make a payment it goes through revolut

It is basically a prepaid mastercard with internal different currency-balance sub accounts.

Use it to pay for anything online, amazon, spotify, link to paypal, etc - just like a regular mastercard.
No fees unless you signup for a premium account bt yes - you need to preload it with money.

You can add details of other bank accounts that makes it easy to top up or withdraw/move money to other accounts.

The best part of it for me is the foreign currency - just back from New York and used it almost exclusively while I was there - GBP->USD is at actual bank exchange rate and converting the left over back is the same - no fees (except at weekends).

It's best to link it to a DEBIT card and then you can top up via the app in seconds and the money is there to spend without any waiting.
Revolut seems to have realised the market is going with Starling.

Monzo, etc etc etc?.

What's with the Sterling thing, is it better then?, or ...
All registered, but when I try to apply for the free physical card it says I need to top-up £10. Please help
Revolut treat their developers like absolute trash (i.e. twitter.com/phi…808 direct from the CEO), and are known for making applicants for marketing jobs sign up 200+ customers (unpaid) as part of the job application:(wired.co.uk/art…sky). Never had a problem with the product but I've switched to using Monzo for essentially the same service without supporting this garbage company.

If your going to use your DEBIT card to top up why not just use the DEBIT card. What are the benefits of having a revolut card

Foreign transactions. Most banks in the UK apply both fees and a percentage of the cost for buying in non-Sterling currency. Cards like Revolut (I signed up but have refused to top up £10 - I have other cards) mean that the transaction fees you are charged if you go abroad or buy in foreign currencies on the Internet are substantially less.

Funnily enough, a few people on s previous of this had formally said the same too, etc?.

It may be worth everyone being100% sure of this one first (or whatever?), before then ...

Have hopefully managed to delete the account. Couldn't do it myself in the app as it still wanted me to top up and submit a passport or drivers licence ! Had to wait 35 mins on chat to chat to a real person who agreed to close the account but said it would be later today as and I quote "they are getting tons of requests today" i wonder why !

You can top up via Faster Payment almost instantly now as they upgraded their systems a few months ago.
I prefer this to giving them access to any of my cards.

You get a standard UK account number / sort code and a Euro IBAN on request.
*sigh* .. another account I can't open ..

Just come back from a holiday in E Europe. With my HSBC debit card, the cash machine warned of a minimum £4 withdrawal fee then tried to push for a Euro conversion, for which the charge went up to about £7.50. Also the exchange rate in Euros was rather poor to say nothing of the charges HSBC might levy.

With the Revolut card in there were no fees from either the foreign bank or Revolut and the exchange rate was close to interbank rate.

I used it with ApplePay and got an instant notification of the amount in sterling deducted from my Revolut balance.

I also used Starling bank and it operated similarly although the Revolut app is better.

Another bonus are the temporary virtual credit cards you can generate via the app. Great for online transactions where the seller won’t accept PayPal and no worries about hacked or stolen credit card details.
Do you have to top up £10 to receive a free physical card or not?

Yes for a physical or even virtual card, hence why I closed the account straight away. This deal should be expired
Starling is great
I use Google Pay to top up Revolut not the real bank account

Starling deal here proper bank account to pay in wages and just keep bricks and morter bank open to they have to send you paper work.

Some of us never get out of the house do foreign land is a big boo boo
Stay away from them... horrible company!

It works until it doesn't then go chase your tale for help!! Worst customer service I have ever used.

Trust me, don't even try, the mental anguish isn't worth it.

Does it mean you can recommend us a company with similar benefits/services and with excellent customer service?
I've been using Revolut for many months now, taking advantage of their numerous FREE services (foreign exchange, international transfers, virtual card, great app, instant notifications etc) and never had any issues.
I bet they're not perfect, but as long as the advantages outweigh the risks, I will keep using them.

People always tend to generalize; I'm sure every bank has its own customers that are convinced their bank is the worst one there is, due to some unfortunate experience.

PS: I know some people will argue that Revolut is not really a bank, but that's not the point
To get the card you need to top up £10.00

Yes - except when the free card offer is on it means you have £10 credit on your card. Without the offer it takes the card postage fee from the £10.

Also - you are applying for a *prepaid* mastercard - why on earth would you object to preloading at least £10 ?

How do you add money on a 'normal' bank account except bank transfer?
You can pay in cash in a branch, but you can do the same at any post office with Starling.. so can't see the difference..

PS: couldn't open an account with Lloyds few years ago => they're useless, right?
Does this require credit check
