Me thinks sainsburys are going to regret this one...

We're all going to need one when the pound coin is changed.

Did you mean Fob?

this has been the case for 5 years.

these are provided by nectar themselves and not Sainsburys.

Do you need coin for the trolly at Sainsburys? I don't recall I need to use it in my local.

My local doesn't require them.

My local Sainsbury recently introduced a type of trolley that won't accept these. The pound/token goes inside a compartment so can't be on a chain. Though I suppose you could just unclip this one.

Same at my local, trolley have new slot just unclip from the chain and insert.
Very handy as I no longer have to look for a pound coin or get change to use a trolley.

You're attempt at a joke is fobbing me off

Never needed one at Sainsbury's, however you do need one at Lidl, but ask at the tills and they will give you a handful free.

my Sainsburys need tokens, I get them from Lidl.

This has bee going for yonks already .

As much as i'm one who is working with them currently, they got a lot of fob tokens.

What's the point of these? I thought the whole point of the pound coin lock was that it would cost you a quid if you nick the trolley.

If they give these away for free you can just nick the trolley right?

One pound trolley system was never intended to stop real thieves (after all a trolley is worth way more than a pound!), just to encourage people to stop leaving them all over the place, and to return them.

They should send these out

I have a Sainsbury trolley token but it won't go in the new trolleys

Picked up a couple yesterday. They were plain white, and not Nectar branded.

Of course, the bonus is you get a free key-ring with it
