Does it work for existing?
+ sky cinema £65/month - equivalent £48.33 after quidco

+ sky sports £75/month - equivalent £58.33 after quidco

Or vip package all of the above plus talk anytime plus 300mb broadband £88 / month equivalent to £68.83 after £250 quidco
Seems to be a new customer deal only. I just left and used Now TV for a few months which has been totally fine but this offer just convinced me to go back since it is only a few quid more a month

Should do. I asked for one at the start of this year, they said yes and reduced the price of our monthly bill by £9
Heated, this is a fab deal, especially if it applies to existing customers too.

If anyone who is already a customer has managed to get this plz let me know as i would like to get this but i suspect they will try and tell me its new customers only.

Also is it free as in no upfront charge but you still pay the extra box fee per month or is it totally free ie no upfront or extra monthly fees? If the latter then it seems like a no brainer for anyone on full house surely?
It’s free for 12 months. The box would be £49.95 then £7.50 a month so the quoted overall saving is £139.95. Remember to haggle or cancel after 12 months
Problem is these V6 boxes need an Ethernet connection...and most 2nd boxes are not near the hub

They have WiFi too but I have never tried it. If your WiFi is good enough for streaming then it should be ok for this too.
Does anyone know if the engineer will run Ethernet cable as well as coax cable when fitting be second box ?
Thanks..you are right!
my my fault for believing the virgin "engineer"

Depends how he worded it. Ethernet (gigabit) is faster and more stable than wifi

My v6 is downstairs and Super hub 3 is upstairs, zero issues at all running WiFi. Netflix and YouTube are use daily.
So big question is if some of us are customers with virgin and already over our contract end date what would be the best way to get this if at all possible?

Has anyone done it already and managed to get quidco?
£80 today for everything that virgin have + pay line rental up front and save £60 more. Just asked and got no probs for next 9mths then start all over again.

I just renewed my contract with them, £40 per month for the full house bundle with 200mb broadband.
Advice for existing customers, if your contract is up, phone through to retentions dpt and tell them you can't afford your package but are happy with what you have and ask if there is a better deal. I renew every year this way and always get a reduction on my existing package(if you don't ask you don't get). I was moved on to their VIP package,£21 per month reduction on my bill, free second V6 box as above to replace my old v+ upstairs. Both my V6 boxes are connected to the hub via Wifi as too far for the Ethernet but no issues so far and if you're feeling cheeky as I was, tell the engineer that your hub is old an playing up (I wasn't lying)and they will recommend their newest hub which they supplied and fitted for free. I'm happy. Heat added OP
So I’m with virgin but out of contract. Anyone know If I leave and re join under my partners name would this be allowed.?

Phone up to cancel, they'll offer you a deal. Refuse it. In a couple of days they'll call you with their best possible offer. You should be able to get a deal at least as good as this.

Nope work fine on WiFi. For some reason VM don't make it widely known though. I suspect it is due to the variable nature of WiFi and they don't want to get calls and call outs for cases where the box isn't near enough to the router for a good wifi connection, so if they make sure everyone is on ethernet or at least homeplug then less chance of anything going wrong. Even the menu seems to encourage ethernet - I recently switched mine to wifi and couldn't figure it out at first, seems to assume you are using ethernet even if the cable isn't attached!

Over cautious though IMHO, I have used it on Wifi fine, believe it has 2.4ghz and 5ghz, so no reason to assume it will be worse than any other modern streamers/set top boxes are on wifi.
Called Virgin today about this but got nowhere at all (yes, I did call retentions). They insist it is for new customers only and refused to add it for me.

If any existing customer did get this exact offer please advise what exactly you said to them? As it seems if you aren't a new customer you have to either get a very generous agent on the line or know exactly what to say.

Frustrating as I do have full house package anyway so thought I should be automatically eligible for this.

I’m quite tempted to fire off a complaint email to the CEO Tom Mockridge as it seems existing customers always get the short end of the stick, called late last year about a free 6 month Netflix offer, again new customers only
I got fed up with being a long term unvalued customer. Retentions offered me rubbish deals so I served notice and left for 4 months and went to Now TV (we cannot get Sky as the dish has no line of sight). Go back and you're treated like royalty for 12 months
Did anyone manage to get a second V6 for free? Thanks
