looks like tesco are desperate. I think I'll hold off on this one til Xmas pent way to much at launch for it to drop . nice find though.

Good price, shame Cap and Venom aren't part of the free character deal.

Game.co.uk are doing the same deal but even without this voucher, Tesco is cheaper - thanks!

Worth noting that Nick Fury is voiced by Samuel L Jackson in game.

2.0?! Only just got into v1.0! (Or daughter has to be precise)

Its frustrating that its a new base, alienates people who already bought 1.0! Good price though, I will more than likely still get it for my son

can you use the older characters on this new version/base does anyone know? thanks

You can use the characters, not sure about the base.

Characters yes. Base no. Very much like the Skylanders set up.

Betamax to Skylanders VHS

Actually, it was announced during the initial press conference that ALL version 1 components were to be compatible with version 2 (but version 2 figures etc are not backwards compatible) so as long as you buy the game itself for the same platform as your 1.0 version, you shouldn't need a new base.

Bases can be used on the same platform e.g. ps3>ps4

it is, but nothing new, skylanders have had different bases over the years too.

Don't forget Tescos take money straight away. just a warning. noticed this deal the other day but think I will hold off for now

The infinity website shows all figures will work, playsets won't though so no Toystory, Cars etc.

The play sets are on the disk, so no, the clear plastic play set pieces from the first game won't do anything with the second game's disk in the console.

The base, power disks and characters from 1.0 will still work on 2.0 but I don't believe anything is backwards compatible at present. Saved toy box creations from 1.0 will import into 2.0 and can then be edited using stuff unlocked in 2.0.

Hope that helps someone. I write for DI Magazine so give me a shout if you need any more into.

^ i need to correct the previous post by TheBeefChief as the information provided is wrong.

with the Disney Infinity 2.0 disc in use when the play set pieces from Disney Infinity 1.0 are placed on the Infinity base they will unlock all of the associated toy box toys from that play set for use in the Disney Infinity 2.0 toy box. the only toy box items that will not transfer from 1.0 to 2.0 are the goo grow and shrink related items.

this has been confirmed by John Vignocchi who is the executive producer of Disney Infinity and is discussed on this topic

a compatibility chart is shown below

is Infinity 2.0 the one that's getting the rumoured Star Wars playset as well?

and given that Disney now own Lucasarts, an Indiana Jones playset would be brilliant

Hot! I had a voucher for £10 off amy next order so got the PS3 edition for £42 X)

nothing has officially been confirmed but all rumors point stronly towards Star Wars content being in the 2015 Disney Infinity 3.0 release ... this will tie in with the release of Star Wars Episode VII

Sorry, Tigga, I meant the clear plastic pieces won't activate the play sets when placed on the 2.0 base, should have made that clearer. I was explaining to the poster above that it's not possible as the play sets are on the 1.0 disk. Good point on the toy box pieces being unlocked, though, I hadn't seen that.

surely Disney can't justify a 3.0 just for a new playset? otherwise we they would already be on 4.0?

^ 2.0 is introducing several Marvel play sets at launch in september 2014 with Disney Originals content being added in november 2014

similarly it is expected that 3.0 (expected in 2015) will introduce several Star Wars play sets

development of both Marvel and Star Wars content was revealed by the Wall Street Journal in february 2014 and is discussed in this topic
