What's the betting that voucher comes with a bunch of terms and conditions? Be good if it is £10 free, but I aint convinced.

Nice post OP.

Wow just got in from last night and find this hot offer:
A few things dont add up though after thinking about it, firstly BT used to do mobile phone service then it became 02, so how come they can sell to another company then restart again?
Also,
If you look at the first page before you submit and the page after the terms for the free sim and £10 differ:

Page 1: BT Sim Only + £10 credit offer
Offer ends 31st December 2007 or after first 1,000 vouchers received and service activated, whichever is earlier. One sim per household. Standard BT Mobile GSM service terms and conditions apply

Page 2: BT SIM Only + £10 credit offer
Offer ends on 31 January 2008 or after first 3,000 vouchers/applications received and service activated, whichever is earlier. One SIM per household Standard BT Mobile GSM service terms and conditions apply.

See the difference?

There phones are expensive too, well over the odds! The SE W810i is £109.94 shop.bt.com/pro…703
Ive just bought the white version from the 02 shop for £49.95 (using a old £1 phone picked up at a car boot sale for the job as a £20 trade in). I used that particular phone for comparison as I know what the up to date prices are, but at a quick look they all look overpriced hardly a way to tempt new customers.

Strange indeed... Also, "after first 1,000 vouchers received and service activated" makes me think that you could receive a SIM card and then find out you can't activate it because 1,000 have done it before you.

Oh well, we'll see, at that "price" it's worth trying! Hot deal regardless, heat added, cheers!

The Virgin £5 sims are better in my opinion as you can order more than 1 (as soon as 1 arrives you can get another), and also add each of them to 1 main online account and transfer the credit to 1 sim making the deal really flexible to keep putting free credit on. Each Virgin sim has £7 once registered.

This BT free sim is still very good for free £10 worth of calls.

Steve

Great Thanks

Will apply for the BT sim.
However, I have a few of these unused Virgin sims but I did not want to change my number. Can anyone tell me how to transfer the credit?
Thanks
:santa:

Surely if they had only a thousand or even 3 thousand they would all be gone now???

Go to virginmobile.com/vm/….do and add each of your other sims to your existing online account. Then phone Virgin and ask to transfer the credit on them to your main existing number. I would suggest perhaps doing only 1 or 2 at a time so that it's not too complicated for them to do.

Steve

Thanks Steve,
Will do as you instruct. When I think of all the Virgin fiver sims I have passed on to my kids!! Will save the last ones for me.
Cheers

thanks. ive gotten a few fivers from virgin, and hope this is just as easy.

Just ordered many thanks to OP.

HOT.

Received mine today, there is no catch to the offer, you get a sim card and a voucher to redeem online, giving you £10 credit. Ace deal:thumbsup:

Got mine today.

I think that if you redeem, the £10.00 you will get 300 texts too. (or has that already been said?)

Where do you put the evoucher code on the BT website to get the credit?

Your account > BT Mobile Pre-Pay > Top up

I've got one. Thanks!
What's more, if you register online, we'll credit your account with £1

however, I didn't find £1 after I registered online. Does anybody know how to get it? Thanks:)

I couldnt find the top up link through your account, had to go to Products and Services.
Once there, it makes your register, but its taking a while for them to text me my registartion code....how long did it take for you guys?

Got mine today, thanks OP.

Website a total pain though, been trying on and off to get this sorted since about 4pm...took 2 hours and 3 attempts for the code to arrive, and now when I go to try and top up (and use the evoucher) it's spinning me round in circles asking me to register my number again. I give up for the day, it's bugging the bleep outta me.

can anyone tell me what network's mobiles these sims work in? are they like virgin, who work on t-mobile?

i got mine today u have to register it online and then call a number and activate the e-voucher they sent me with £10 not bad.

Hi just stick sim into unlocked phone, you will see a bt number on your phone ring number and on menu it gives option to top up using credit card or evoucher.Hope this helps starlet

Oh thanks, thought you could register it online...since there is an evoucher section on the website, but when I click that now it just takes me to an empty page. Do I have to speak to an actual person when I call or is it automated?

Same here registered one of the sims online but couldnt top-up with e-vouchers so called the bt number from the phone to top-up with the vouchers, still got some more to pick up from my other mail address later so all good!

Anyone struggling to top up call:

01277 201 748 free from your mobile and follow the prompts

Or 0800 169 0850 free from a landline and same again follow prompts (not tried this one, but I assume its the same as the one from your mobile)

Sorry...

This site is undergoing essential maintenance work. Please try again in five days, sorry for the inconvenience.

Just tried the BT sim, registering it was a nightmare as the site does not recognise my postcode, and the support department cannot sort it!? So I gave up on the online registration as the only bonus would have been an extra £1 credit.

Anyway, put 2 evouchers on to 1 sim so £20 free credit to try out.

Does anyone know why the local area phone number displays on the handset? This only happens with a BT sim, does it relate to a cheap call deal within the local area or something? I'm sure I read something in the past about cheaper BT mobile calls within area code etc?
