Free Sky Go Extra for all sky tv customers until you cancel sky tv

Sky have changed the requirements for free sky go extra so it’s now available free to all sky tv customers via the sky vip program. All you have to do is go on to the my sky app opt into the free vip scheme and click on free sky go extra. It is free sky go extra until you cancel.

The sky vip program is free to all customers so no catch there, only catch I have come across is when you cancel you get opted out of the vip scheme, so in theory that would mean the last month you would be charged for sky go extra.

Don’t shoot the messenger but how do I know, guess where I don’t like to work?

Edit
its not account specific, it is available to all sky tv customers

If for some reason you can’t find it you either have sky go extra free via sky mobile or multiscreen if not call sky.

Can take 24 hours to go live, don’t add sky go extra just click the offer and let the system redeem it.

Worth remembering that if you have a kindly friend / relative that doesn't use all 4 device allowances you could use a login to operate skygo on your own PS4, xbone etc.. for sports, movies or whatever package they subscribe to.....purely on a temp "try before you buy" basis, of course....ahem...

I have done well out of joining Sky VIP. Free cinema tickets for the kids (both at uni, never any tickets in my area), free tickets to a comedy event and a couple of buy and keep films.
Sky Go is riddled with ads
I had a, Welcome to Sky Go Extra, letter a couple of days ago. No explanation as to why I was getting it. I thought it was because I had recently signed up to Sky Mobile (the 2GB/mth for £3 offer). Thanks for putting me straight.

So, what exactly is, Sky Go Extra?

Worked perfectly. I don't have multiroom and they confirm it's free for as long as you remain a VIP and pay for sky TV. Thanks for posting OP.

Is this just for new VIP signups because I'm not seeing it?

4 device limit versus the usual 2.
Thanks op

@jasee you don’t have to have multi room and the best offers on sky vip right now are £10 voucher for sky store and the free sky go extra.
Does this mean more than the four allocated devices allowed by extra? I pay the extra 5 quid for 2 more devices.
As far as I know I'm a VIP already(have been since launch) and we've had a Sky Q silver box with multiroom and additional minibox in the bedroom a couple of years now.

Sky Go Extra has always been included so I'm assuming there's nothing to see here for those in the same boat as me?

Been a sky vip since it started and sky go extra has always been free and I use a sky hd box with basic package at £10 a month
Can you cancel the Sky Go extra before cancelling your subscription to avoid that final charge?
This is a reward depending how long you have been a sky customer. My Dad has been a customer 20 years ago and sky go extra for free was showing from the day sky vip was launched sometime last year. I have been a sky customer for 2 weeks and this reward is not showing on the app for me.

Allows you to also download films and shows to watch offline
Worth a look

Sounds no different to the SkyQ app, unless I'm (probably) mistaken?
Thanks op.
Thanks OP. Being able to register 4 devices is a massive win! Ta

i cant see the option for sky go, buti think you are right the sky Q if any is better as you can download whatever you have on your box
since i have sky q i have not used sky go anymore
still good deal for those without sky q
Swings and roundabouts you might not like where you work but then how else would you have stumbled across this deal
Sky go extra is free for Vip customers of 3 years or more.

Or has this now changed? 0-3 years can't claim iirc
Sky Go is more reliable if travelling outside the UK. I’ve downloaded films on SkyQ and couldn’t watch them off line but no problems with Sky Go. Also Sky Go seems to allow better access to programs when using a VPN
Does Sky go extra allow you to watch on the PS4 app?

You could be right, not sure if sky Q allows offline watching or just streaming. Either way if you don’t have Q it’s something additional

It does indeed.

PS4 app?
Seems to have worked for me. By coincidence I signed back up to Sky TV yesterday with a deal, so great timing. Thanks OP.
BARKMAN05/12/2018 08:11

PS4 app?

Yes, on your Playstation 4 there is a Sky Go app. No PSN subscription required to use. Obviously you need a valid Sky Go Login
I used to get this free and then they began charging me for it when they changed the name of all the bundles, so cancelled. I could never get it to work, is it that awful Silverlight thing? It was forever telling me to download it

Great thanks for posting I would have missed this

And you are able to download for offline viewing
I got the deal from the VIP app, downloaded the Sky app on the Xbox, signed in but when I went to watch it said something like I need to be a Sky Go Extra customer.

I just bloody well signed up! Any ideas?
This sounds great.

I currently use all 4 sky go extra slots, do you get to keep all 4 with the free VIP option?
Can't find the option for Sky Go Extra on the app
Great news! Thanks for posting
@Rambaldi47 deal can take 24 hours to go through

@Bash_er u keep 4 slots and the download feature.

@turtles1 it used to be 3years + but from the 4/12 it changed to 0-3 years aswell, only reason I can think the offers not popping up is either you have multiroom or sky mobile whereby you already have free sky go extra.
