FREE sky line rental for 12 months with half price broadband unlimited for 6 months - for existing customers!

I called sky today as I was planning on leaving them. I had already requested a cancellation and was checking some details. The person I spoke to was fantastic and offered me FREE line rental for 12 months (saving £147!). I thought this was a fantastic offer as line rental is always the most expensive cost! I decided to take this deal and as he was putting it through he then realised I automatically got half price broadband unlimited for 6 months too, which would work out to £3.75/month for the forst 6 months, then £7.50 thereafter. I could not believe this deal. I could have actually got free broadband if I did not go for the unlimited..which would work out totally free for both phone & broadband, but I needed more usage.
He then explained that he is only allowed to do one deal in a phonecall so told me to ring back to cancel my TV and whoever I spoke to would be able to offer me a deal on that too! Finally, there is NO CONTRACT so I can cancel at any time...but don't think I'll be cancelling anytime soon...well not for a year anyway! ;-)

Too good a deal not to share! ;-)

How can that be a deal, if it was just communication with sales advisor. My 17.25 6 months is nearly up and I amgoing to cancel if they don't keep this the same.

Not really a deal. They offer all sorts in the retentions department when you say you're going to leave or downgrade.

Not really - they look at the account, how much they get from you, how long you've been with them, and then at their stats to see if they NEED to keep you to make the current months sales figures (staff in retentions are currently required to have a success rate of 82% or they get a "chat" from the team leader) - that will determine their offer.
I can also confirm I got an almost identical offer that the OP was offered last month, and snapped it up. Same service for less money is ok in my book.....

I agree with everything as above and add..... It's also slower than my gran.

I got free line rental when I switched the home phone over with them, an HD box for £29 and a wireless receiver for said box. Not sure that this really qualifies as "a deal" but I'm adding heat for the simple fact that this may well spur other people to try and get something similar.

I get 780k a second and it costs me about ₤1.85 a week. Never throttled either and I usually download 160 to 200 gig a month. Can't complain.......

Really does depend, we had the full HD package, Phone line and BB. Deal was up and phoned retentions and was offered diddly so cancelled!

Will give them a call. Thanks OP.
