Earliest install Feb 12th 2020.....??!!!
Is this deal £11 per month for movies sub only. Presume on top of subscription for other sky packages?

Yep. That's what mine is but up until then my bill reduces as I'm not getting sky Q until then so I guess swings and roundabouts
Guess not for sky q customers as we already have a sky q uhd box. Unless they have changed their policy to have more than 1 ubd box in a house.
The box might come with the offer but its not FREE as in to keep !
Sky only loan you their Q equipment so only free as in free to borrow
Agreed, not free.

Well the box is FREE as in no charge for it so it’s right to say it’s free.

Nope, it's free rental of a box NOT a free box which implies ownership.
Free is free as you’re paying £0 for the box whether it’s a rental or not

No it's not. I dont borrow my mates drill and say I have a free drill...

Exactly. Sky normally charge for the sky Q boxes. Some people find the negative in anything.
I have around 9m left on current retention deal with sky, so signing up to an 18m movies only deal means I’ll be forced to pay the going rate for entertainment, box sets etc for the last 9 months as I can’t then threaten to leave etc.

So a free q box might end up actually costing upwards of £20pm for 9months when my current discounts lapse.

Is this right? Really want sky q and would take it with the movies at that price but not if I’m screwing myself over further down the line....and I certainly don’t trust sky!

Edit...I might phone them to see if they will recontract my current tv deal to match the 18months although the movie channels might die a death with Disney and others taking all their content back for their own service...

New customer deals are worse than Black Friday and they weren't that great!
Isnt this like renewing your contract where you can get better deals?
Just watch if you don't have a compatible TV a sky q box wont work. Relative found this out as the box wouldn't work on a Sony 2k tv

Soes anyone else HATE (with a passion) the user interface for this?
The EPG is vile (in my opinion)

Not sure if I could get used to it..
My daughter had it 6 months, she detested it then, hates it now...
(Each to their own, i suppose)
Remote control feels "cheap" too
Well lets hope you get used to it. The control does feel cheap compared to the big rubber buttons. But I do like the fact you can speak through the remote to change the channel (yes lazy)

You still watch live TV, how quaint
My parents pay for sky HD but do not have a TV. The box they have isn't WiFi so they cannot access the on demand content. Is there a way to get a better box for free?

Why do they pay for Sky if they don't have a TV?
Sorry I meant hd TV. They've only scart and RCA
I recently paid £25 to upgrade to the new 1TB UHD box and retained my existing offers (I don’t have sky movies or sports) I was told that the earliest install date would be late January but received a text the following day to say that it would be installed two days later.
