Free Sky remote

67
Found 28th Feb 2015
This is a re-post of an earlier offer, due to Sky now having stock again

In 2007 we developed the Sky+ Easy Grip Remote Control for customers with mobility impairments and physical disabilities. This is the first Accessible Remote and has been awarded an Age OK Accreditation. As well as being designed to be easy to grip, the remote also has raised buttons with larger text.

There are also additional navigation points on the buttons most often used. There are two styles both offering all the familiar features of the iconic Sky+ remote - either a textured easy-grip option or a hand strap option, to help customers with dexterity problems.

Our disabled customers can receive an Easy grip remote control free of charge.

If you would like to request the remote control you can use our help request form or contact the Accessible Customer Service Team on 08442 410333.

Thanks OP a really nice find Have some Heat.

Cache, even if people are abusing it, do sky not charge extortionate rates for the crap on half the channels ? Bskyb have enough money ! However if means people that actually need them don't get them , then I understand your point

Yes, because Sky is a small struggling business and any abuse of this offer might just put them out of business.

They barely managed to scrape together £4.1 Billion for the Premier League Football rights recently.

Thanks got one for my grandparents!

How about if you have a genuine disability, but are faking sky ownership?

I think you're missing their point.

It's not about costing sky the few pence they probably pay some chinese firm to knock the remotes up, its about scumbags on here (and other sites) abusing this offer which will then get withdrawn and genuine people in need of this will lose out.

If anyone has abused this offer, I genuinely hope karma takes a big bite out of them in the future.

Ordered mine thanks, could do with a new remote.

I have physical & mental disabilities & lung disease Pulmonary Fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis & sleep apnea. & more x really need one of these remote controls

its not a disabled person offer, its a sky customer disabled person offer, if you dont qualify its a little of a grey area

this has just come through to me on an email from latestfreestuff with no mention at all of it being for the elderly or disabled so I'm guessing a lot of people will apply for it without realising

Couldn't agree more. Why order something if you don't need?

Beyond belief sometimes.

Yep. Just tweeted them and emailed Sky to make them aware of it.

Good offer. Heat added. Have just ordered one for my Nan who lives with us. She has bad wrists and always drops the current remote.

Having worked for Sky I will be very surprised if people receive them unless their Sky account is marked as disabled already. That's why they are asking for account numbers.

You could argue that anybody daft enough to pay Sky's extortionate prices are not in possession of all their faculties and are mentally challenged thus qualifying for this offer.

Love the deal to make life easier for those who really need it

Fifty Shades of Grey and to be used in the Fun room

thanks OP difficult to grip things some days (..........enough with the giggling at the back!!!) , this will be a God send!!

Voted hot and great offer for genuine disabled users. I don't hold out any hope that this will not be abused - just watch who gets out of the cars parking in disabled only places - not a disabled driver or passenger to be seen on many occasions.

Thanks op.

Tempting. Our toddler's favourite game is hurling ours across the room onto wooden floor (the Theo Paphitis test!). It has failed the test and the select button (the most important one pretty much!) has failed.

Good deal but the title of the thread should be edited to clarify it is for disabled customers

Not really the point. These companies are all about profit (which in itself is no bad thing), but if they catch a whiff that a genuine offer that is intended to benefit disabled people is being abused it disincentives companies from doing anything that helps disabled people in the future.

Thanks ordered 15 to sell on ebay.
