I got email from sky last night to claim free wifi booster.
I paid £2.18 for the postage.
Click on link and login to check if you can claim the offer.
email doesn't say offer is exclusive to me or deadline.

my wifi range isn't bad but this is just a extra boost. Its basically a extension.
Not voted either way on this one
As for router being crap.... No just old and I don't see ford offering folk an upgrade add on if I only pay postage lol
Honestly mate its not.
Not at all. My Belkin is fantastic. £20 from Argos.
Everyone who bought one (paid for postage) unwittingly signed up to Sky for a further 12 months.
Did you have to sign up for another twelve months when getting this, your link takes me to correct page but once I sign in it then only shows other offers but not the Free WiFi booster!
I used to have one from Sky and I gave up in the end and replaced it with a wired old Sky router that I used as an extender.
Customer service is shocking. Happy to take your money, and give you **** all in return for there service.
lol, at least your be able to get baby channel, and no one will know
i would suggest if you have a mobile phone try using wifi analyzer from google play store link below its free!
scan which networks are on what channel and change the channel in your router to a quiet on that stops most dropouts!
play.google.com/sto…_GB
to access sky router
type in your browser address bar 192.168.0.1
you will get a little pop up window
username: admin
password: sky
you can then go from there.
also the wifi is crap on the sr102 and is not proper N range at all and only connects upto 74Mbps, i know and have found this issue myself.
the full solution is to buy a wireless access point that simply plugs into the back of your existing router by ethernet and also by doing this you can up grade your wireless speeds up to the new ac wifi speed.
(300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps 802.11ac for 5 GHz).
2links below for those that are interested and my god does it make a difference, i now get full speed wireless thruput off my fibre now
not the cheapest soloution but it works and now will never need to worry about wireless again which ever isp i have!
wireless access point
amazon.co.uk/NET…120
wireless best ac dongle atm
AC1200 802.11AC Dual Band (300 Mbps / 867 Mbps) High Gain Wi-Fi
amazon.co.uk/NET…GN2
i was also lucky as had a £50 voucher sitting in my amazon account from where i had switched the gas and eletcric over online with my provider, sometimes its worth alook if you haven't done that in a while.
anyway hope it helps some of you with the dreaded sr102 currently there aren't any plans afoot for sky to design a new one. so it will be down to you come up with a solution i just bit the bullet and sorted myself
all the best

sky service is rubbish . Never gave me any newer equipment, but continue to take my money. Router is dead, and i am using one i paid for, which is a mile better than the **** they gave me!
Thanks for the info, I may look into that! Every time I start streaming Spotify or using xbmc movies always seems to either drop or completely disconnects, then sky's auto troubleshooting kick's in trying to reconnect after several attempts! Seldom had these problems with talktalk!
I've just checked my sky router which is set to channel 11. But my options only go up to channel 13, but wifi analyser showing channel 14 as full strength but how can i select that? Im thinking t's probably sky's crap router that and they throttle my connection!
Is there anyway I could use my old talktalk router for my sky connection, I take it it would have to be unlocked/reconfigured etc it's a huawei hg533(broadband wireless N adsl2+ router) firmware version v1.13t, hardware version f.1.01.
if you have got fibre i don't know the ins and outs of that router you are saying and is an adsl2+ router suspect it may not cover fibre speeds as with sky fibre requires MER protocol
and below is a link for a video how to extract your username and password but doing this breaks your sky terms of only using there equipment and if they find you out they can cut you off if they so wish, if you change you router thats why i went down the route of a wired/wireless access point as i'm still using there dreaded sr102
anyway in the intrests of freedom of info heres video link below make of it what you will

skys wireless is only 1-13 alot of newer routers dropped the 14 channel tbh but if you can find the clearest channel out of that lot will greatly help.
i check thru several times of the day in my case where i live channel 3 was best for me thru the whole day as some people switch theres on an off work that out, should just leave them on and then that won't effect your line speed.

Thanks for your help, BTW I'm on sky unlimited broadband not fibre!
