FREE SODA STREAM GAS CYLINDERS & SODA STREAM BOTTLES ONLY 50P @ Sainsburys

I went to my local Sainsbury's & picked up some Sodastream 1L bottles (screw fitting) for only 50p each & noticed that there were a whole crate of new gas cylinders with FREE on them. I queried this at the till because I didn't believe it - but it was true - so I took a good proportion of them.
I have no idea if this is a local thing or national but it is worth having a look in your local Sainsbury's to see if they are getting rid of their Sodastream gas cylinders & bottles. Great if you have a Sodastream machine & even if you don't the bottles are great for taking on a Picnic with the kids because they don't leak. The pic I've added gives an idea of the type of gas cylinder that was being given away. (The outer pic was slightly different.)

It is isnt it!

It is, after all we wouldn't want people to be greedy and selfish would we ....;-)

Not really a deal is it?

... More of a gloat I would say

Might of helped a "little bit" if you told us which Sainsbury's branch are giving them away

I thought soda streams were a fad popular in the early 80's. Do people really still use them?

a soft drinks making machine that makes cola that tastes a lot like orangeade which tastes a lot like lemonade which tasts a lot like water :P

I wasn't gloating - I thought it would be useful & hoped that some other people might be able to find themselves a very good freebie & although I took quite a few of them, there were plenty left - it was a huge crate of them.
Also I thought it was worth pointing out so others could have a look in their local Sainsbury's to see if they can find them in other stores too. Sainsbury's may have discontinued supplying them in all their stores. I think it's a shame to be so negative when someone is trying to be helpful because it will really discourage anyone from posting anything that might be useful.

Just ignore them - sounds like a good deal to me and its a real shame when people have a go at someone for taking time to post a deal to let others know.

Our Local store stopped selling them a few months back so now it's got a new home in the garage unfortunately.
Of course it's cheap and doesn't taste all that great, but it's the fun factor for the kids that makes it worth it!

well op i would of done the same aswell ,as you use the soda stream why would you not take a good few for yourself seeing as they were free ,good on you

Get busy with the fizzy!

My gran had one since the sixties - a big grey metal thing. Then the white plastic ones came out in the late 70s.

Did anyone else find out what happened when you put milk in a Sodastream?

It worked for me, but it tasted a bit grim. neat Vodka was always a favourite.

Although I gave up on Soda Stream when they discontinued Vampires Venom and the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

Yeah - i found out! Milk doesn't take the fizz to well, ending up blowing the door off my machine and foaming all over the kitchen. Of the remaining couple of millilitres i was able to drink, i can say fizzy milk doesnt taste all that great
