I installed this last year on a Windows 7 laptop, after it came out top of the free products in the Which? annual review. It was easy to install and set up and seems to have worked well.

It's not fared so well in this year's review so about to replace with Bitdefender free version, which came out very well.

I have recently licensed Malwarebytes after being impressed with the free trial. I know it's not free but the key was only like £6. I like it a lot and installed in on my mum's PC but may try this one as it's actually free and I've heard of them

Don't get Which personally.

Where did you get the key from for £6 ?
Thks
Not sure why this is cold. It’s free! Can it be any more of a deal for this product...? Can you get it ‘cheaper’ elsewhere? Maybe somewhere someone is paying you to get it?

Anyway, I’ve used this for years on my Mac as it was the one recommended by apple. Great AV.
I have tried this anti-virus for many months (Sophos Free) after Which? magazine gave it the thumbs up.

My computer started to behave oddly and Sophos A/V did not detect anything. I then switched to try out Kaspersky Free and immediately it detected a problem which was cleaned up.

Sophos is very stable and works well most of the time, however, I don't know how "effective" Sophos is, as it seemed to miss problems which other anti-virus software picks up.

I tried Bitdefender many years ago and it caused my PC to slow down and had "stability" issues.

I also recently tried Bitdefender Free (months ago now), and encountered my PC having 'issues', after uninstalling and switching to Sophos Free, my PC resumed 'normal and stable' operations.

I am now trying out Kaspersky Free which has not given me any problems so far.

I would assume that it was G2A.com. I just purchased a key from them for £5.89.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the heads up on Bitdefender. I will still give it a go but will keep a close eye on how the laptop performs, just in case.

There are many antivirus tools out there, such as Symantec(Norton), McAfee, Avira, Avast, Kaspersky.
