I was about to pay for a replacement water meter when I found this.
In my case you need to supply the serial number of the meter which is just under the lip of the device after you pop it out. (see pic below)

They do loads of free spares from whole lids, funnels, beaks, jugs etc.

I was some what impressed. X)

We have thrown a whole jug away due to a faulty water meter oO

My Opening Post Title was altered by an unknown entity - incorrectly

The alteration implied that the product had to be registered when purchased !!

I have never registered a Brita product ever oO

Until now that is - for my 5 year old Jug!

Its all FUD !

My water meter is on its way for my ancient Ewer! and has been confirmed by Brita

NB: Given the responsibility of altering another members OP - surely would necessitate that you read the entire thread - just in case you missed something in the OP, and the third post !! oO

So you need to have registered your product? We threw the box and leaflets away ages ago.

Our Jug is about 5 years Old, and I supplied the serial number printed on the Meter when I signed up (About an hour ago) - filled in the form and was promptly told my item was on its way - For Free

I was cynical too but ...

If you remove the LCD water meter from the lid, a serial number is printed on the side. This is the type with prongs that actually go into the water

I have no idea what those pictures are supposed to be? I just have a regular Brita water filter jug and would like a replacement 4 week countdown timer as ours was damaged with water. You'd think they would make them waterproof hmm???

Out of interest I have just received an email saying my part is on its way free of charge.
I am delighted

Thanks

Thanks!8)

Thanks for this .. the clip in my my water meter broke off.. thought i was gonna have to eventually get a new jug as that and the clip on the pouring lip has gave out

Thanks for posting this, very helpful!

Out of interest, do people recycle their filters? I've tried but can never find anywhere to take them. Took a few to an Argos once but next time I took a few to the same branch they said they didn't take them anymore.

Free but subsidised by cartridges, a simple calculation suggested that after a while, if a part is broken or missing, whatever, consumer stopped using it and stop buying any more cartridges.

Very true, but.. I will always buy the cartridges, as I like the taste of the water they provide (so does the cat )- this freebie means I will not have to replace the jug that the filters fit in - as I did so once already !! oO

Yes, I collect all my Brita filters and recycle when the bag is full at Argos. The last time I took them there was a few months ago though so policy might have changed. Try this site brita.co.uk/bri…rid Only the ones with a recycling logo will take them. I don't know how up to date the list is.

Looking at the map (ta) we have three places that will recycle - which is exactly what I will do from now on - Thanks

It's always the meters for us. Although I spose the Beak? sticks a bit on the one I am getting a meter for. But I will live with that.

Its really pleasing to get such wonderful customer service like this to be honest. I only wish I had known about it before I disposed of my other jug that had a faulty meter.

I have registered an account and ordered a replacement memo, it didn't ask for a serial no though?
Will wait and see if it arrives. Thanks for posting

Heat still slowly going up on this ... so very pleased that people still find the HUKD for Britta and benefit.

At this rate of "heat added" I calculate that the post will get to 1000 degrees in about another 3 years Yeah!

But lets be honest, for us posters, its not the heat we are here for .. is it ...?

Yeah it is

I would think it's the Elemaris jug with the extra large sensor, as it appears to be the only one that asks for the memo number. Does the memo/meter have extra long prongs that stick into the water?

I have just gone trough this process and it still seems to be working. Well spotted op. Maybe this shouldn't be expired?

Thanks for posting this again. BRITA are more than happy to replace parts to get your jugs up and running again but we won't send complete systems or parts to make up whole systems, that's just being cheeky ;-) Sandra BRITACare

Just to say, thank you for posting the information and how refreshing to find a Company that stands by it's product and customers. Well done Brita!
