FREE Spectacular Views of London - Sky Garden

Found 14th Feb 2016
Take a look at the Sky Garden, it's on the 35th floor of the Walkie Talkie building, directly opposite the Shard and it's FREE to visit. I went there yesterday...fantastic 360 degree views across London, close to tower bridge, gherkin etc. 5 min walk from Monument station.

Outside and inside viewing areas, and lovely internal landscaping.

There's also a cafe up there which is fairly reasonably priced.

It is best to book in advance, tickets are released 2 weeks ahead.

I know this has been put up before, but the last time I can see is 6 months ago and with half term and the Easter holidays coming it is a fu. Thing to do as a couple or with the family.

3 weeks in advance not 2, tickets released around noon or just before on a Monday

All adults need ID, but a bank or credit card is fine.
Would anyone have 2 spare tickets that they can't use for either the 20th or 21st? Dates are fully booked out. Thanks.

I had a very small handbag sized pen knife confiscated until I came back down. If it's cold up there and you don't want to go outside, you can sit indoors with a blanket and hot water bottle they supply!!

Some intriguing terms and conditions.... includes things like - (f) Ballons are not permited.

(b) Please note that there are restrictions on the amount of liquids (including gels, lotions etc.) you are permitted to take into the Sky Garden, unless they are essential for medical purposes, special dietary requirements or contain baby food or baby milk. Containers must hold no more than 100ml and must fit comfortably inside your bag so that it can be sealed.

I went last year. Also was for free. Glad that I didnt pay.. tbh I was expecting nice garden. There is nothing "wow". When i went I saw a garden which was not nicely done. Only good to go for nice panoramic views.
Btw lift is cool ;-) in few seconds at 35 floor..

You can't give away tickets as the names on the booking are checked against the ID you produce on the day.

Nice to know. These types of enclosed areas with limited escape routes are a worry to me to be honest. I know we shouldn't live our lives in fear* but there are so many of them, and they just seemingly want to kill as many people as they can.

* or with caution?!

You can just turn up to say you are going to the bar/cafe etc. And you're allowed up. No booking required - this was in the evening when we went.
Many thanks OP, didn't know about this!

It's on Plantation place or sth. AIG used to be there when I worked for them. You come out of Aldgate station and walk towards Monument. It's the building near the Vodafone store
thanks great find..
We went on a Thames Cruise thing last year and as we past the skyscraper, the guide told us to visit the Roof Garden as it was the BEST free view in the Capital City! Unfortunately, it closed about 10th August, which was before we had time to visit. The guide had no need to recommend this attraction at all..... I always trust that kind of advice.
Looking to go on a Sunday - when are tickets released so I can get first dibs?

Also, are they released at a particular time?
