Yeah I know it isn't the best freebie in the world, but if you have a starbucks card you may as well register your birthday (or get 366 cards!! haha)

Ah it's my birthday on the 21st, wonder if I can register one in time. Do you need to make a purchase to pick up a card?
happy birthday.
My birthday just went on Friday
Cold for me as my b'day is 1.01. All of 'em are closed.

Voted hot however.

No....pick it up in store, top it up, and register it online.

If you are Starbucks regular you get quite a few little extras, see their website
Don't you have to top up a fiver when you set up the card?
Cracking offer though
Screw Starbucks and all the other ridiculously expensive chains and support your local coffee shop !

In fairness, when I am in Weymouth I do just that. There is also a nice one in Cheltenham I visit. But in a town I don't know I do like Starbucks coffee. Also, you try and find an independent in Bristol or Birmingham city centre! I can't think of one!! I know that is because of Starbucks and the like, but you get my point.
Don't think my local starbucks opens on New Years Day...
Hmm, might just set it to any random day since im not exactly going to go out of my way to head to a starbucks on my birthday. November seems like a good idea, cold month or something..

In Bristol, try Cafe Amore in Nelson Street - we liked it and it gets great reviews

Thanks for that! My partner and I go to Bristol quite a bit. I will give them a try!
Hmm. Associate my birthday with a Global brand? I don't think so.

god forbid that you go to a global restaurant chain or stay in a global hotel chain on your birthday either.

Some people need to get a grip

no you wouldn't go out especially to get it, but saying you won't get it just as its a global brand is silly. Like saying I won't watch Sky TV as they have a monopoly in Britain, or you won't drink Coca Cola due to being a big brand!

The deal however is hot
sky hardly has a monopoly in britain anymore

Without wanting to take this thread away from the deal, Sky are completely unrivaled when it comes to sport. ESPN are terrible, and the BBC show very few premiership matches.

To be defined as a monopoly a company needs a market share of 25% or more. If there are two or more companies with shares above 25% they can be described as an oligopoly.
I wonder if they'll ask for ID to prove it's your Birthday, if not - it's my Birthday whenever I'm near a Starbucks
Hi I read all the comments! But still have a question.

I have a starbucks card and I had registered it long time ago as I use their wifi but I have never received any vouchers from them for my birthday. Do I have to just turn up on birthday and show them the card? Or what?

Many thanks!

Register your birthday online, then just use the card to buy your drink on your b day. It should be free.
Will they sing happy birthday to you? I hate these birthday offers where you have to put up with them singing to you.

Couldn't agree more. If you're passing through Kent check out The Deaf Cat in Rochester for a lovely coffee in great surroundings, it makes me instantly calmer :-)
Thanks.
Thanks.
I love fresh coffee, but i'm not a starbucks fan. More of a Costa girl. 1st time i went to starbucks I walked out with my coffee only to find 5 mins down the road they forgot to put the shot of coffee in!. Second time I was bought a coffee, tasted better instant coffees! My last try was at Blackpool pleasure beach, as they had the monopoly there. Paid about £4.5 quid and ended up throwing it away. Yuk. Costa and Greggs (who also use the same beans as Costa) all the way! great deal if you are a SB lover tho

Like you said, good deal if your a Starbucks fan... For me I have never had a good cup at Costa. Suppose a lot depends on luck and which store you go to.
