Found 27th Mar 2015
Starbucks are offering a free latte on Monday morning to acknowledge daylight savings. Simply present your watch / phone (displaying the time).

I was advised that this is going to be nationwide by the Manager of our local store and indeed have seen the same notice in two stores now

Confirmed by @StarbucksUK on Twitter, as genuine (screenshot below). Announced by Starbucks, on Starbucks UK's Facebook page at 8pm on Sunday 29th March.

HAWT like a LATTE! :-D

thanks a latte (_;)

Cheers OP...

Can you link / upload the image so we can read it? No idea why HUKD doesn't let you enlarge the image, so frustrating.

Really as if a worldwide company decide to give away £1000 of product to random people and how do they go about it? Print an A4 sheet laminate it and don't even put their company name of logo in it.
I think it's a bit early for an April fools.

Am I the only one who doesn't feel comfortable ordering a free coffee?

I imagine you'll be in the minority (though I also suspect there will be folks along to say "i wouldn't go into Starbucks even if it was free")

Imagine you ordering a latte and showing them your watch, and the barista looking at you in awe ......

Cool. Will try remember to check this out!

Thank-you Juliet

Thanks!!

I seriously do hope that this is not an April fools thing as someone suggested. I think with the prices they charge they can afford it!!!

Yes, you must be.

Starbucks are a global company who make hundreds of millions out of selling overpriced hot drinks and cakes to people who have bought into their persuasive marketing. It's not better coffee, or nicer cakes - Starbucks just sell you the idea that they are.

A cup of Starbucks costs the equivalent of 86p in India. It's £2+, here. Why the difference? Well, here we will pay a ridiculous amount for a hot drink - and Starbucks are glad to take it from us! It's made them so rich, they don't even pay tax!!

And you're worrying about getting a 'free' cup? Sorry, I just have to roll my eyes!

The free publicity Starbucks are getting for handing out a few hot drinks will more than cover the cost of the hot water and coffee bean!

And because they haven't paid tax in the UK for many years I won't buy their coffee/drinks, but I will take advantage if they're giving it away free - and encourage others to take advantage of them too!

Why do you have to show them your watch or phone ???

Dont they have clocks.

Better still get your free coffee and give it the poor outside.

heada

And get them hooked on Starbucks. Nuh uh

How do you claim this sorry? I don't understand?? What do you do to get one? Do you go up to order point and ask for a latte? WHAT SIZE?? And do you just show your watch??

This is such an un-Starbucks-like promotion. Their freebies/discounted drinks are always promoted via email and professionally done. Don't know what's going on with this one. Probably paid too much volunteer tax and cut their usual marketing staff.

Just ask when you go into the shop and they will tell you, will just take and extra 30 seconds and job done.

Not really - Starbucks are terrible at communicating their offers sometimes. You usually get an e-mail but there have been offers that only appeared on twitter or on their website or where they forgot to tell their staff.

This one is especially weird though.

Agree, that's why I took the photo and posted. They have have now posted it on their Facebook page (Starbucks UK), at 8pm, the night before the offer... Perhaps they were hoping that not that many people would know (_;)

Just checked. This is a genuine offer as shown on Twitter. Get on it guys!

Ps. Yes I do feel embarrassed asking for free things lol

Just got the email from them about it.

Yay just got my freebie. I am in Germany by the way time zone fans.

was told i needed a code!! (didn't have one)

Did anyone get this then without showing anything extra?

This freebie is dangerous in a city centre. No codes to show means a free coffee in every store. Just had my 4th take out, can I make it 6 before 12pm. #hyperwired

Just seen the error of my caffeine induced greedy ways. My remaining free coffees I have given to homeless. Which I should have done after I drank my first. #knowbetterfornexttime
