Airshows are an excellent free day out and you can often couple these with a day out at the beach too. I have provided a list of all the free airshows I could find for this summer, although if I have missed one please leave a comment and I will incorporate the airshow into the list

June

1st & 2nd - Torbay Airshow : torbayairshow.com/

The Torbay Airshow has been bringing families and friends together since 2016, this free event has grown in popularity over the last two years attracting in excess of over 165,000 spectators to the Bay over the two days.

Torbay’s natural amphitheatre provides a unique and stunning location, creating the perfect stage for a coastal event which kickstarts the UK’s Airshow season.

Hosting an incredible air display programme, the Airshow features the best military and civilian display teams, including the RAF Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon Display Team, RAF Tucano T1 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota.

6th - Guernsey Airshow: guernseyairdisplay.com/

Smaller than the nearby Jersey airshow (held in September) but a good event nevertheless

22nd - 23rd - Weston-Super-Mare Airshow:westonairfestival.com/

Weston Air Festival will return this summer with breathtaking air displays over the stunning Seafront and Beach Lawns at Weston-super-Mare. The two day show will take place over the weekend of the Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June offering free entertainment for all the family.

22nd Newcastle Festival of Flight: newcastleairshow.wordpress.com/

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) will be returning to Newcastle in 2019 with an aircraft we have not seen since the 2013 Festival of Flight, the Douglas DC3 Dakota.

It is only fitting we have the Dakota grace our skies this June as it is the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, of which the Dakota’s played a massive part.

You'll be lucky. The skies above London are congested enough as it is without a Typoon zooming through.
I miss the lowestoft one, went every year as a kid and would love to go again now! But they stopped it few years back now and doubt it will ever come back!

They're off on a tour of North America so the last UK airshow they'll be at for the 2019 Season is the Royal International Air Tattoo on 20th/21st July 2019

East fortune not free. Ayr is.
Voted hot. I went to the Weston Super Mare one (just happened to be on a trip there that weekend). Great atmosphere, quite a large fête, really surprisingly good range of aircraft.
Why are nearly all of the airshows down the south of England 😡

It depends on your priorities. But if you have kids Bournemouth is darn amazing place to be (as with all airshows weather permitting).

I would 2nd that. There is out of town park and ride and that works really well as well serviced with buses.
It is 4 days (best day is Saturday) runs 29Aug to 1sept).
Best option is to book early and stay at something like Prem Inn if on a budget. But if you can afford it some of the beach front hotels have balcony airshow parties with great views etc.
Bournemouth is a good show, you can watch from the water and if you watch from the cliffs, planes often fly lower than the crowd line! Red Arrows aren't displaying there this year apparently so crowds will be smaller.

I miss the Vulcan, not quite the same without it.

Red Arrows are at Southport air show in September this year.

Southport back to September this year then? Sure it was around June last year.

Any near Manchester please?
Air show? Buzz cut Alabamians spewing colored smoke from their whiz jets to the strains of “Rock You Like a Hurricane”? What kind of country-fried rube is still impressed by that?!
