You can get a 'free' cinema ticket on Sundays at participating cinemas when you buy promotional chocolate pouches before Thu 19 Oct. You can use it at Cineworld, Empire, Showcase and some independent cinemas, but not Odeon and Vue See the full list).

It’ll work if you buy special bags of M&M's, Maltesers, Minstrels, Galaxy Counters and Revels (see the full choice of sweets). You need to buy five small pouches/blocks (100-165g) or two large pouches/blocks (184-300g) to get the 'free' ticket. Make sure they have the Sweet Sundays promotion on them. See image below.

This is a good deal if you're buying the sweets anyway as the cinema ticket normally costs £10ish.

Where can I buy the Sweet Sundays pouches and how do I get them from £3?

You can buy the promotional chocolate pouches at most major supermarkets, but to make the most of this deal, it's best to buy them when they're on offer, or at the lowest price available.

The cheapest we've found is the large Teasers blocks for £1.50 at Sainsbury’s, which would mean a £3 spend on two blocks would get your ticket.

How do I get the 'free' ticket?

1. Find the code at the bottom of each bag/block.

2. Register online at Sweet Sundays and enter your codes - large bags/blocks get five points, small bags/blocks get two points. You need 10 points for a free ticket. Look at the back of the pack to see how many points you'll get.

3. You can choose to have your voucher emailed or posted to you, which can take up to two weeks. It should also include instructions on how to book your ticket as it varies by cinema (see the full list of cinemas).

4. The vouchers can be used on any 2D film at participating cinemas, every Sunday until 11.59pm on Sun 12 Nov. Vouchers can be redeemed online by entering an e-code, or at the cinema box office

More info
Valid on 2D screenings on Sundays only. Max two free cinema tickets per person. Excludes advance screenings, premieres, 3D films, previews and premium seats. Can't be used with any other offer.

You can upgrade your ticket at Cineworld or Showcase cinemas for 3D, 4DX, Superscreen, IMAX, Dbox and Star Seating, but you'll need to pay a fee at the box office.

Anyone cringe at the word 'chocolate pouch'? Isn't it just a bag of chocolate?

Does anybody have a postal address to contact them on? I've had nothing but trouble trying to redeem my codes at Showcase, the contact us page on the website doesn't work as clicking on send seems to do nothing. Thanks
You only get the one ticket for £3 spend. Vue offer with Tesco worked out at £3 for 2 tickets and if you have Nectar points works out at £5 for 2 tickets.
This has already been posted - they were available for £1.50 for a period as well so may be worth keeping an eye out to save a few more quid.

You don't need to sneak your own food in! Long gone are those days. I've seen the likes of Vue tweet saying its fine to bring your own in the past.
So only cinemas that aren't in the South West. Excellent. Always the way with these promos. Vue or Odeon down in Devon!
Waitrose have these pouches on offer from today (09/08/17) at 2 for £2 (£1.50 each).

EDIT: I have just checked one of the pouches I bought this morning in the 2 for £2 deal at Waitrose and it only gets you 2 ticks out of 10 that are needed for the free ticket so 5 bags required for 1 free ticket. To get 2 tickets you would need to spend £20 if you were getting the smaller pouches so not really worth it.

There's always somewhere selling these bags for £1, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, Farmfoods, Iceland, B&M, Homebargains.

If you buy the bigger bags for £1.70 in Asda it's £6.80 for 2 tickets.
Big bags are £1.50 in Tescos!

So £3 per ticket!

Do people still feel the need to 'sneak' stuff? Cinema's literally don't care you know.

They're not, they're back to £2.50 for the large bags
They're £1 for the small ones but you'd need 5 (£5) to get the 10 tokens

Sainsbury's £1.50 ea on some or Asda @ £1.70 ea
Oh right, well it was yesterday. Got two packets from Tesco Express. May have changed price now then

I suspect prices have changed. Sainsburys updates it's deals on a Wednesday. Their Vue offer Cinema ticket deal also expired yesterday. I could find no trace of Tesco having a deal on when I checked mysupermarket website earlier.

It's possible some of the other brands are still £1.50 on Sainsburys, I didn't search them all.

I worked at an Odeon when I was at Uni nearly 10 years ago now. Policy was then that anyone can bring whatever food they like in. People used to bring all sorts of stuff, including McDonalds.

If a cinema tried to search my bag for food I'd kick off big time.

Not only do they not care, they're not legally allowed to prevent you. Cinemas are not dining areas so they don't get the "bringing in outside food" protections. As they allow food inside the cinemas and don't have that protection, they're not allowed to discriminate against food purchased outside

Great deal   Thanks OP 👌
This has already been posted with the £1.70 bags at Asda, as the teaser blocks do not have the cinema vouchers on them this is just the same deal

Yep none of the leading supermarkets do this 2 for £3. You won't find it in Sainsburys or Tesco at these prices.

True, but instead of cashing in 1000 points (£5) for 2 tickets you could cash in 1200 points (£6) for 2 tickets and 4 large bags of chocolate

The staff a Vue Ellesmere Port cared when I tried to smuggle a barbecue and some chops into Batman vs Superman.

If anyone else has any spare codes they'd be much appreciated. Thank you
Just posted on the Asda thread but co-op are doing the large packs for £1.50 and with NUS makes them £1.35 so £2.70 a ticket I had previous till spit too for £1.00 off
