........When they're skiving!

thanks

Good one, thanks

excellent I can now check if an item is cheaper somewhere else using their wifi, ta.

This is great as I have been having trouble with 3G reception inside Tesco stores.

Ha. That little bit extra to get us to shop in Tesco!
Now we can check mysupermarket.co.uk whilst doing our shop in their store! hehe.

They should get a lot of praise for this, it's something all major supermarkets should be doing.

I have problems with signal in EVERY Tesco store, I am almost sure they have some kind of signal blocking going on inside their stores, as its fine as soon as you exit the store.

As for free wi-fi, bonus

Great for when having a coffee in store, me and some friends been crying out for this.

Great. thanks. I'm sure my local asda block phone signals, as soon as i step out the store it's fine.

I've been fine, and my network is terrible in my area.

Bah! Voted cold.Instore only! Store specific during trial. Link broken etc

Interesting and thanks.

I do wonder how many wireless access points they have per store and the internet bandwidth behind it.

Joke aside, this is WHY they introduced it. They know that a lot of customers will be price checking in their store. One store (I think it was sainsburys) was going to do the same thing and also have ipad docks on some trolleys

When you are getting free access to the internet why are you complaining. You have to be bold to let blokes check the prices of products at other stores...what that means is that Tesco is quite sure that their prices are the lowest.
I'd sign for a club card if I didn't have one...its unlimited free access to the internet...what more can you ask.

This is wicked. Hope they will bring it to all their stores soon.

Indeed it is sir, no more having to use poor 3g signal inside work xD

Nice one

Thanks

nice find hot can be very handy for a number of things

well said hotmick ta v much

What do Tesco get out of this exactly? Are they going to use the WiFi to monitor how customers move around the store in order to work out how best to place promotions etc?

Yeah it's good tried it used to struggle with signal at break time now brilliant

Awesome!

3G is always poor signal in Tesco Express, so this is great for HUKDers checking on Tesco bargains while in store.

excellent thanks

cheers op

this will probably to support all the qr codes they use!!

at present bit pointless if don't actually have signal to goto links!! great for reviews of games movie trailers and also spec for electric products!!

great idea and great way to interact with customers!! wish more shops would do it!!

I always get a rubbish signal at my local Tesco so this will be great for making Viber calls etc.

Somewhat ironc for a shop where they don't allow you to write down their prices !!

This is great news, other stores take note.

If only their wifi had a much longer range. I'm around 100m in a straight line from my nearest Tesco, I could cancel my broadband - lol. Could I buy some sort of repeater with a big beefy aerial?

Wow if you live near a tescos you are sorted

Nice one blue, thanks for the heads up! sweet!..:-))

It is great to see more free WIFI opening up. Good work Tesco.

Unfortunately the Government is trying to kill free and open WIFI as part of the Digital Economy Act. In other words if anyone downloads and infringes copyrighted protected media then it is the subscriber who is held responsible. So if people download movies etc then it is Tesco who get the three-strikes. They could do that while walking around the store with their phone in their pocket or laptop in their bag.

now they going to know what websites we are checking/browsing , free marketing data collection

Hardly difficult to set up blocks on certain stuff or impose download limits per mac address.
