When is Lloyds getting Samsung Pay, well disappointed with the bank
Is this the same for National Rail within the oyster zone?
What if you only have one Samsung phone- can you use the same card for 2 people or 2 different cards but one device?

Don't think you can have more than one Samsung Pay app. You might be able to use different cards but you would have to tap in with one card, then change your default transport card to the second MasterCard, then tap in that. Not sure if this will work but it may do

Some banks are really slow. At least they still have Google Pay, unlike Tesco/Barclays

No its one traveller per card/device. you cant use contactless cards payments to cover more than one person.
Will be funny when you get your bill and they charge you with a note saying April Fool
Nice for the lucky few

Wise in my head given Android security is wobbly, how many handsets are stuck on old Android versions are there on handsets that can’t be upgraded, i wouldn’t use Google Pay on anything other than the latest Android version available for security reasons.

Barclays made a wise decision and Tesco too, well given they got hacked...hacker probably used a Android exploit to gain access to Tesco via Tesco banking app on a older less secure Android handset/tablet
my note 4 doesn't work with android pay so i doubt it will work with samsung pay.
Thanks for this. Visiting London Easter Monday, this is a big help. Also got a £6 costa evoucher! 😁

Barclays support tap and pay through their own app - even worse. Google Pay is only supported on KitKat and above

Not really, KitKat is years old now how many security updates has it had since on all devices still being used.

Why I won’t use Android myself, because I would rather not buy a new handset every 12 months to have the latest OS and security, manufacturers save money using Android and sell new products rather than updating perfectly serviceable mobile devices, Google harvest data and sell and make money. The most important part of it all - the consumer is the least important part of the money chain/pyramid with Android.

I would use one as a backup phone/browser but as my main daily no way.

Fair enough. As you can probably tell, I use Android daily. Though Samsung (for my Galaxy S8) are not the fastest at updates, Pixel phones are really fast with them plus they are getting three years of updates. So it all depends on the manufacturer really

The sammy browser is fast! yeah most are bad though
Rules my S4 out.

Website says only for newer Samsung phones ie. S6 and upwards, with Android Nougat and upwards.

I suppose needs to be un-rooted phones as well.

Was wondering if I flashed LineageOS 14.1 and use Magisk for root, will it work?

Samsung Pay is Knox protected, does Magisk hide that too? I know it passes Safetynet but maybe not for Knox.

Also, I suspect the main reason Samsung Pay only works on the S6 and above is because only these phones have MST technology (since Samsung Pay can be used on non-contactless machines in other markets). There might be a check for that hardware on Pay which isn't present in the S4 so that could be another barrier (though I'm not sure on this, just speculating).

Yeah I use it on my Android Alcatel Pixi 4 (tv remote), works a charm with apps throwing stuff from tv apps and digital remotes for Virgin, Roku & Philips, Sammy browser is fast for finding stuff to watch than searching apps, when you know it’s on a certain app ya go straight to app, search & stream to Ambilight TV

It's still worth trying though, I haven't personally been in that situation, just having an educated guess.

You misunderstand. I hadn't used my Santander Mastercard for a while as I now use my Amex. So, I decided to cancel it.

I have one of both the others, Amex doesn’t really seem to be popular payment method in Scotland.

Gave it a try, so went on Play Store to download Samsung Pay.

"This app is incompatible with all of your devices."

S2 definitely not,as has no NFC.

S4 has NFC and works with Android Pay but I presume this uses MST and S4 doesnt have.
Also found this on Samsungs wenbiste:

"Samsung Pay is only available on compatible Samsung devices with the original software. Rooted or custom operating systems installed on the device are not supported."

I guess this is deal is hot only for those who got couple hundred squid to spare for new Samsung phone (s6 and upwards).

I have done in the past with the S2 but when you try installing the apk you get a parsing error.

On the S4 it might do because it has NFC. Not much gained from Google Pay though, the only difference is that you have to verify by PIN/Iris/Fingerprint before paying
