ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Arts Council England in association with Metro brings you the new scheme, A Night Less Ordinary. Launched in February 2009 the scheme offers thousands of free theatre tickets to anyone aged 26 and under for all sorts of theatre events including comedy, tragedies, musical theatre, dance, modern mime, plays, circus and much more. There are more than 200 venues participating throughout England and you can search them all from the home page. So what are you waiting for?

ABOUT ARTS COUNCIL
Arts Council England works to get great art to everyone by championing, developing and investing in artistic experiences that enrich peoples lives.

As the national development agency for the arts, we support a range of artistic activities from theatre to music, literature to dance, photography to digital art, carnival to crafts.

Great art inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better.

Between 2008 and 2011 well invest in excess of £1.6 billion of public money from the government and the National Lottery to create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country.

HOW TO GET TICKETS
It's really easy - just type in your area or postcode to search participating theatres near you. Have a look at what's on offer and grab your tickets quick - before someone else does!

Great idea to get people interested in the theatre but if like me, we live nearly forty miles to the nearest participating theatre. Defeats the objects for some.

Great idea - my kids will love it and in Plymouth Yipeee

Not much heat, all things considered? Is that a sign of the attraction towards the theatre these days?!

Just a reminder that some of the venues haven't started issuing their free tickets yet, some of them only starting in about 2 weeks time? So keep checking!

Hmm, anyone know how to get the free tickets at the Young Vic in London?
It brings up the page, but when you search either of the two shows there doesn't seem to be any free tickets... is there a promo code that I need to use?

You most likely need to call them to book the tickets.

Is that everyone in your party - or just the person picking up tickets?

From website:

We’ll need to see proof of age for everybody in your booking who’s using a free ticket:
A driving licence
A valid passport
A birth certificate
PASS-approved card
16-25 Railcard

Please note that a NUS (or NUS Extra card) will not be accepted as proof of age, as it does not have a photograph on it.

9) Tickets can’t be transferred to someone else and will only be issued to the person who booked (on production of ID).

ageist pigs!

But what about some of the shows for younger children, wouldnt they need to be accompanied by an adult? So would they have to buy a ticket... =|

Original Poster

Yeah but their kids will get in free! You can expect them to let everyone in for free, that wouldn't make any sense.

Stand by for a free tickets. added hot.

amazing....lots of shows in london! thanks for this!

Don't forget to heat it up! It's not getting on the main page so lots of people are missing out

I think a whole bunch of tickets has just been released by many of the London theatres today.
Get them while there's still good availability!

Brilliant for anyone to have a taster of the theatre, shame they have an age limit.

Nothing in Harlow, Essex.

this is excellent- I will be waiting for my nearest Theatre to issue the tickets on Monday :-)

Brilliant! I have booked Pinocchio at the Beck Theatre in Hayes on Sat 28 Feb for £8.48. £8 for me, 48p admin fee(!!) and 3 kids - free!

btw, my kids are all below 10 years - and kids before you ask would have been £6 (+ 48p - I think), so its more like 0-26 yrs free theatre. I need to take the kids passports (or birth certs) - but not mine! This bit was emphasised.

A friend at work is delighted on taking his 3 kids and himself for free as he's 25!

none in wales :x

hot deal for those who can get it. its so expensive to visit the theatre.

the free tickets link on the Liverpool Everyman website does not work... :-( my son and his friends would love this.....

should i just keep checking?

xxx

Yeah try again tomorrow, hopefully they'll get it sorted.
