Had two free tickets to this last year. It was so dire that I didn't bother claiming them for this year. Headline act was changed. Half of the acts that were supposed to be playing didn't turn up. Parking charges were expensive and not advertised until you arrived. As I'd got free tickets, I upgraded and paid the extra for goodie bags. These were bad value. Nowhere near the amount of advertised stalls.

They were obviously struggling to sell tickets as a day or two before, they emailed to say that I could have double the amount of free tickets so that I could bring friends. It was short notice and I'm glad that I didn't bother as, after paying for parking we walked around the small amount of stalls (taking around 10 minutes), bought some overpriced, tasteless "Street food", ate it while watching a mediocre music act and then went home.

We usually love a good festival and have been to quite a few (paying for them). This was easily the worst.

I went to the Cardiff one this weekend and I went to two last year in other places they were superb. Goodie bags are a fiver plenty in them. You must have had a bad day.

Its a shame. Some people have paid £25 a ticket to pay for overpriced food. Get it free instead!

Went down to the one in Brighton and they wanted £25 each to enter at noon on the last day. I turned around and walked away as there are plenty of better things to do with £50

I went last week using free tickets which The Telegraph are offering to subscribers.

There were lots of stalls - craft sellers, fresh food, charities like Guide Dogs, fresh pet food retailers like Tails.com. Also lots of places to eat with prices between £8-£12 for burgers etc. Lots of bars too at pub prices. Kids rides priced at local funfair prices. Lots of people taking their dogs hence all the pet food retailers.

There were no freebies unless you include half filled shot size samples of mocktails and tiny slivers of turkish delight.

Plenty of people took chairs and picnic blankets placing them by the music stage. Keep an eye on their Facebook page as they brought forward the band time on the day we went by a few hours.

We stayed for around 2 hours and enjoyed it but there's no way they can justify the ticket prices. It's worth going though if you can get free tickets.

Spent the whole day today. If you're interested in watching any of the demonstrations, you can easily spend 4/5 hours.

    Free food included?
    ImranAhmed's avatar
Definitely not, they'll charge an arm and a leg for food. The halal food festivals are the same,

We went to Tatton Park last year and really enjoyed the day. 'Blue' (3 of the band) headlined, plus a few other acts. It helped that the weather was glorious!
Parking fee was steep, but didn't mind too much as 4 of us in the car. Going again this year

NOTE - if free tickets sell out, use code TELEGRAPH25 for a 25% discount off prices, if you do want to go

Imagine this is now free after being about £25 a ticket in Cardiff and no one going
    sjs31's avatar
No, the free tickets offer first appeared about a month ago in the Telegraph (for D.T. subscribers), same as last year.
I was bombarded with emails from Foodies Festival organisers with offers for this year's events but resisted, hoping for another D.T. offer - and it paid off!!

Still some left, just booked for Sunday in Bristol, thanks Op!
  35. younome's avatar
Free tickets for Bristol still available on the Friday, but the free ones for Saturday and Sunday are gone.

I can't help but notice the programme has all the demonstrations ending around 5-6pm, so apart from the exhibitors and the music acts, likely not much to see in the evening.
