For that reason COLD. As with it posted here there's no way it's going to be honoured with the sudden influx of subscribers. Not even worth a punt

I have risked it for a quid 😁 Thanks Op
As you can see by older posts, the free gift changes from month to month so if you dont fancy a cheap tool kit that belongs in a christmas cracker(i wait for counter comments) then wait for the auto glym etc.

But as well from what you can see in older posts is they will not honour it anymore and I don't blame them.

Imagine that, a magazine company decides to put out a great deal which is likely to cost them money. They promote it places relevant to the magazine subject (so for this car mag, on autotrader and even as personalised adverts based on subject of interest) in the hope people take up the offer but remain subscribed at full price.

Then the deal is posted on HUKD'S where thousands, if not tens of thousands of people with no interest in ever subscribing at full price but just want a £1 free gift will sign-up, get the gift and then cancel. It's a sure way to pull a company under. No wonder they won't honour HUKD signups anymore.
I can confirm that they do not honour this deal.

You might have a very, very long wait for the autoglym. I am anyway.
This 'offer' has been going on for well over 10 years. Simply cancel your direct debit after they've taken the quid and then resubscribe to the same offer and repeat. I must have well over a dozen and a half of these cheapo tool kits around the house from them and still don't know what the extension bar is for as it doesn't fit the bits on the end when used!

Like I said, not really a deal as it's been the same deal for time. I don't understand how posting the deal on hkud is an 'abuse of the offer' as it is merely a platform for others to share the deal with others which, surely is what companies pay marketing companies millions to do?

Because overall it's a loss leader and they count on getting at least a few subscriptions (thus subject matter offers are advertised on relevant sites, i.e car sites for car mags).

When it's posted on HUKD's, tens of thousands of people will subscribe purely for the gift (even if they don't really want it) and then cancel their subscription. HUKD postings of mag offers will cost the company a fair bit so it's fair enough for them to class it as abuse of the offer.
If like my last subs, they don't wend it out before your 6 issues have elapsed and you've cancelled. I've had an email confirmed they hadn't sent the gift and to wait 28 days. That was 2 months ago. 6 issues delivered for £1 was still a deal. Can't be bothered chasing the freebie again

Abuse of the offer is when you take out the trial subscription, cancel and resubscribe time and time again for the past 10 years

I didn't realise that companies paid HUKD to post their magazine offers, pretty sure these are deals posted by consumers for consumers with no advertising costs.

I didn't mention it in that way, you've misread what I put. I was talking about "cost" as in if tens of thousands of people on HUKD are grabbing the offer purely for the freebie then it will cost the mag company a lot considering these promo's are to entice people to join and remain a customer.

This post for example is exactly what the mag company doesn't want..... "Free toolkit...... When you subscribe to Autoexpress £1". People see that as £1 for a toolkit.

Its like I said, mag companies do this sort of offer in targeted ways like advertising on car websites or as targeted adverts to people who have an interest in cars to reel them in with a good introductory offer in the hope they enjoy the magazines and remain subscribed. Not so it can be posted up on a deal site so 10,000 people can get a toolkit for £1.

Same here. I never received my autoglym kit.
Rubbish quality anyway the handle of the screwdriver comes dislodged very easily.

My mistake, I did indeed misunderstand your comment. Apologies😁

where instead of 6 mags and the gift
i got only 2 mags, no gift and charged £22+ with a couple of weeks
with no payback on the direct debit they took
