I ..... am ...... Sparta. Thanks for heads up

These games are such time-sinks... although I won't lie I love every minute of it
Shogun 2 is a masterpiece imo, one of my favourite games ever. Not tried Rome 2 yet but can't see it topping shogun + expansion for me.

I heard the next TW is Victorian era apparently (after they finish churning out Warhammer ones that is) sounds interesting!

Nice find! Thanks OP

Thank you. Heat

Discount code doesn't stack with the current 66% discounted Steam store price, and DLCs can't be redeemed unless you already own Rome 2.

Possibly the next major release is Victorian, but they'll be releasing "Saga" games before then, starting with Britannia. They're hyping these up, but they basically sound like campaign expansions. With current DLC taking the place of what should have already been in the game (and largely is) with re-skinned material.

Wrath of Sparta for example is the most expensive option above, but content wise is pretty poor and not a good campaign at all, but if they can squeeze money out of people then it'll continue.
Attila on the other hand was pretty good, but released as a full blown game (and price to match) followed by a lot of DLC.

I'm hoping they keep the Saga prices reasonable and don't add tons of DLC. Should be easy if they're using Fall of the Samurai as the yard stick

True, the outlook is a bit worrying with all the DLC and factions carved from full priced games etc. And they've gone on record saying they won't be working on any games with a 3 in the title 'for a long time'

Thanks for reminding me about the saga thing I remember hearing that a while ago but haven't really looked into it since. I'm not sure how I feel about it from what I've just read.. I mean FotS was incredible, basically an entire new game & a lot of people even think the pinnacle of the series but it's a shame if they are moving away from big scale games in favour of mini expansions campaigns. FotS was great because it built on the foundations of such a great game in Shogun 2. If it's gonna be decades between main line games in favour of regular smaller ones... idk

I guess they'll do whatever makes the most money. I love the timeframe for Britannia. Been waiting for a good Viking/saxon expansion since the first Medieval expansion, just don't know how they'll implement it or what they'll charge. I'd guess the Sagas will all use the same engine and base gameplay design and just be re-skins with new maps each time, nothing fancy but quick to release and make some money

Why they trying to revive rome 2? i mean WHTW2 is a mess and they are doing this... the new DLC is a pile of crap lol, they have used some WHTW features in simplified RTW2 map and charge you £12? CA get worse each year, WHTW1 was amazing and kept polished, now they have just gotten greedy and dont care.

Thanks took wrath of sparta.

Nice., I only needed Black Sea. Made my decision easy.

Opted for Wrath of Sparta, thanks!

Obviously? How are you going to play the DLCs without the base game..

My post was simply stating facts about the promotion that aren't immediately apparent, and that can only be acquired by attempting to redeem said promotion. Saving others in a similar position the hassle of trying.

It didn't require, nor desire a reply.

As to your question, the answer is plainly obvious.

I think everyone is intelligent enough to realise that you can't own DLC for a game which you don't own, it makes no sense. A DLC is dependent on the game itself.
