Ride for free up to £10 in Belfast this weekend

After launching in Belfast last December, we've been overwhelmed by the amazing response we've had since launch. In fact, over 30,000 people have signed up for Uber - around 1 in 10 people living in the city. Now, we want to find a way to say thank you for all the UberLOVE.

So, as a token of our appreciation, we've decided to offer:
FREE TRIPS UP TO £10 FOR EVERYONE THIS WEEKEND!*

Yep, you heard us: for the entire weekend anyone who requests a ride in Belfast will get up to £10 off up to 10 trips - whether you're a new or existing Uber user! You can get up to £10 off a trip right now, up until 4am on Monday 6th June.

T&C

To take part in this promotion, you must have a smartphone with GPS capability, have downloaded the Uber app, registered and have active internet connection.

Request up to 10 rides on the Uber platform between 6am on Friday the 3 June and 4 am on Monday 6 June and you will automatically receive up to £10 off your ride.

The £10 off is a one-time discount applicable to up to 10 rides in the promotion period, to be used toward the total cost of your ride on the Uber platform.

If your ride costs less than £10, the remaining amount cannot be rolled over.

You will be liable to pay any fare above £10 on any of your discounted rides.

You will be liable to pay for the full fare of any ride if you have already taken 10 rides during the promotion period.

The promotion is only available on uberX and uberXL trips

The discount cannot be transferred, duplicated or sold and there is no cash value.

The discount is limited to use in Belfast where Uber is available only.
Successful redemption of the discount is subject to the availability of Uber partner-drivers.

OK heat added, but do they have enough taxis to cover Belfast for free trips up to £10 free

Uber next new venture is USlave.

it's a scam just to get people signed, they did it in London and you couldn't get a cab anywhere, funny enough when a called to my local cab office I could get a cab that is uber registered

Sucking the pay from hard working taxis. Uber tax dodging crooks.

Surely it's called competition?

Surely it's called competition?

No it's not fair competition if Uber don't pay taxes yet are competing with those paying out an extra 20% or so on taxes. That is unfair competition. But who cares about the normal hard working plebs when the massive corporations are doing alright. This sort of unfair system is destroying small business and the economy. Wakeup before it's too late.

Well depending on what taxi I book I get charged between £3~£7 for the same journey home, I swear they base it on the amount of alcohol they can smell on me! I don't use Uber Taxi, never will either, several reasons...

Well Apple accomplished it with their iSlave model in both the East (China) and the whole of the Western world
