BT Sport Showcase again showing FREE UEFA Champions League football and UEFA Europa League football over the next few weeks, and you Arsenal fans out there could have a keen eye on the Europa League offerings as it involves one of the mega favourites for the trophy in May. Resurgent Atletico Madrid are on great form at the moment having clawed back a huge deficit at the top of the La Liga table to just 5 points (at the time of writing, as it could be (hopefully) down to 2 points after tomorrow's huge top-of-the-table clash - Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid is on Sky Sports Mix at 3.15pm Sunday 4th March, channel 287 on Sky) and BT Sport Showcase have both their Europa League ties for free.
Note that all the free ties are at the earlier kick off period, 5pm for the free UEFA Champions League tie and 6pm for both of Atletico Madrid's matches.

To watch for free, just go on sport.bt.com website on the day or the BT Sport Showcase HD channel 115 on YouView.

Atletico Madrid vs Lokomotiv Moscow - 8th March, kick off 6pm.
Besiktas vs Bayern Munich (agg 0-5) - 14th March, kick off 5pm
Lokomotiv Moscow vs Atletico Madrid - 15th March, kick off 6pm

Heat added as it is free footy but I could rant on for hours about how much I hate BT and how much I hate how they have made the Champions League inaccessible to most, but alas, that is just another facet of football these days.

Its not good for the consumer if they have to buy 2 separate subs instead of 1

I agree but it's the way it is and the consumer has to be smart by getting both half price when deals come available or watch it free on kodi.

I watched LFC v NUFC earlier on that. But hit & miss...but when its good, its good!
The multi billions just goes to players, Managers & agents.

When they fail, they move onto bigger contracts.

So much for failure.

Match of the Day keeps me happy.

I usually go on the links linking to Twitch (less chance of anything dodgy, even though I have adblock, pop-up blockers and antivirus on anyways, anything that does appear I close it quickly anyways before it connects (usually a page advertising something 'dirty' anyways )), just watched Real Madrid vs Getafe broadcast by beIN Sports and the stream was almost flawless. Sometimes with the Twitch streams it does depend on the activity of viewers flocking to streams, if it's a steady viewership like today which levelled on 2000 viewers then it's awesome as the stream is always active and rarely shut down by Twitch. But if the Twitch stream is like Arsenal vs Man City on Thursday where the viewer count constantly flocked over the 10k mark resulting in consistently shut down streams every 5 mins, then it's not as good.

I agree.

Only been caught out once when one minute I'm watching a game, then suddenly stream stops as Wife walks in, and 2 lasses start playing with themselves.

Tricky to explain that one....

Could be worse... I once had my parents walk into me watching a Wiziwig stream of Man Utd vs Arsenal on my laptop (the match where Arsenal 8-2 much ), I turned away from the screen to talk to my mother, then suddenly a pop-up appeared with '2 girls one cup'! To put it mildly, I was banned from using the house wifi for two months (they changed the password) and they put a strong parental blocker on the 3G network signal (Virgin network as part of the 'family plan', the signal sucked anyway). Unfortunately back then I had no idea of VPNs or proxy servers so couldn't do much in those two months.

Agree that it doesn't serve the interests of the consumer if you want to watch everything and were already paying for Sky Sports, or if you don't have access to the CL anymore since ITV lost the rights, but if you're happy with BT's offering (Saturday PL late game, CL / EL, Serie A, BundesLiga, Ligue 1) then the price is far more reasonable than Sky.

I currently pay £2.50 per month for BT Sport via Plusnet (standard price £5), which to me is a great deal for the product. I would never pay the extortionate rate for Sky Sports, but the BT price is fair imo, and works for them as I'll keep my fibre subscription within BT group (i.e BT or PlusNet) in order to keep cheap BT Sport.

You do bring up the key point, though: are we at the thin end of the wedge and are the rights to each competition going to end up in the hands of different companies who all demand separate subscriptions?

I agree competition is good as it offers consumers a choice of who to trade with for the same or similar products and the effect is to keep prices down.

But what we are talking about here is most certainly not any the sort of competition you mean. It is the selling off of exclusive rights to the highest bidder - a form of trading which by definition can only drive prices up long term and, as has been pointed out, benefits only the seller.

Only if outfits like the Champions League had the guts to start selling non-exclusive live rights would we see proper competition with buyers able to make up their minds which package they would buy based on factors like offer price, quality of presenters etc
Can not see where to post a deal,
Bt via quidco good at the moment

Why I voted cold. But when BT, in contract negotiations only said they would show a certain quantity of matches free, Eufa knew what they were up to.

Thanks for the new link name, have missed wiziwig. There was always a good stream in particular i liked the YES one .will give this a go when stuck out in the kitchen .Thanks hass123.
I use snappystreamz app and swiftstreamz app as they don't buffer much. They haven't buffered on the football once and have no ads.
Looks like BT sport showcase has shut early. They are free streaming the Bayern game this wed, however it's free on 19.2e with zdf so I'll catch it there anyone know the free streaming Europa game this week
