Free unlimited broadband for existing customers when paying £18.99 line rental @ Sky

This might help a few of you guys out. I'm only a sky talk and broadband customer and as I live close to the exchange, I've never had a problem with my speed for standard broadband.

I just logged into my account to view when my bill goes up as my broadband and line rental do not end contract dates at the same time. So my broadband is due to go up from my current deal of £22.40 inc line rental, to £28.99 on 1st Feb.

I clicked on manage my broadband and then "I want to cancel" reason was because "I've seen a better deal with another provider" and it offered me free broadband (£10pcm full price) for the next 12 months on a new 12 month contract, with £18.99 line rental.

Better then having to haggle a deal or cancel over the phone to speak to the retentions team like you used to have to do.

I hope this helps a few of you out.

£10 discounted off fibre too. Credit @SAVINGSNIPER

My uncle got free broadband then another £10 off his line rental for ADSL broadband. So he’s paying £8.99 per month. He put notice in and then got an email saying if he stayed they’d give £10 off his line rental also.

Its unlimited
Is this 38gb or up to 17gb
It will be ADSL - 17Mbps
Useful, I've just benefited from this - thanks OP
If you’re on fibre they discount £10 a month too. Was one month in to my contract and clicked I want to cancel and got the deal. Had to sign up for another 12 months but as I had 11 months left anyway itwas no biggie!

The only down side is you are tied in for another year, unless they up the line rental during that year, and if they do you are free to leave as long as you inform them 14 days from them telling you the price is going up.

What's your new total per month please for line rental & fibre?

Also, how were you able to cancel (or try to in this case), being only 1 month into a new contract? Thanks.

Edit: Never mind, I'm a few months into mine as well, & if I try to cancel it is indeed offering it a little cheaper than before - i.e. £10/month, as against £12.50/month I've been paying the last few months.

Thanks PAULTRD, I just saved ~£30 for the next year

That's quite good. Lowest I'm being offered for line rental & fibre BB is £18.99 + £10, so £28.99/month in total.
I got offered Sky fibre unlimited for £25 a month with line rental then got Sky Q tv for an extra £10 a month for the entertainment package, not sure if thats good offer or not

May not be the best ever offered to anybody, but I think the Entertainment package is usually £20/month on its own. To see if it's any interest to you, the extra channels you'll get are listed here (access all the tabs under 'The channels' at): sky.com/sho…tv/

-----

I cancelled the TV-part of my package a few months back as I didn't think it was value for money any more even at half-price (Entertainment & Box Sets packages).

Yeah, have had NowTV (Cinema/Movies only) too for the last 2 years, also getting cheap codes off eBay, or with cheap 4-month-pass boxes.

Beware, some of eBay's cheaper codes cannot be used more than once on the same account - but if you don't mind creating a new account each time, they should be fine.
Dump sky and get now tv

Merry xmas
Had this since July, unlimited BB, not fibre, getting 22mbps as close to exchange. It's a good deal but they wouldn't give me a deal on the call packages, luckily we don't use the phone much.
