Free unlimited online storage from Freedom2Surf.net

Free unlimited online storage from a Pipex owned ISP, and best of all you don't even need to be a customer of theirs to apply.

Plus because the webpage relies on Java to work it should even work with Macintosh users too.

What's It All About?

F2S Virtual Vault is a free online storage space for your computer files. Your online storage space works just like the folders on your computer but stores the files centrally online instead of on your local hard disk. With your files stored online you'll be able to access them from anywhere, share them with your friends, publish them to web sites and they'll be securely backed up and encrypted.

Upload files to your online storage

Simply drag and drop files or whole folders from your computer to your online storage space. You'll have an infinite amount of space to store and backup all your documents, pictures, music and videos securely online. You can even allow trusted people to upload files to an online folder.

Access your files anywhere

Your online storage space can be accessed from any computer and files can be worked with online or downloaded to transfer files between computers. You'll be able to access your important documents, view your photos and play your music and videos when you're out and about through your mobile phone.

Share and E-Mail files

Share individual files or whole media galleries of photos, music and videos which people you choose. You can specify the people who can access each of your files and the level of access they have. You can use F2S Virtual Vault to e-mail files with no file size limit and complete security as only the intended recipient can access the files and you can revoke access at any time.

Publish your files to the web

Files or media galleries you choose can be published to the web where they can be viewed by everyone on the Internet and linked to from your web page. F2S Virtual Vault includes full music and video hosting with a media player you can embed into your web page, blog or profile such as on MySpace, Facebook or Bebo.

Your F2S Virtual Vault online storage space is totally free, so why not signup and give it a try.

This is the bit that I find interesting..

How much storage space do I get?

We don't place any limit on the storage space you can use. We have a cluster of servers big enough to deal with an incredible volume of data. Our server system is also scalable so push us and we get bigger. Simple.

These are also useful too...

How can you offer unlimited storage? What is your business plan?

We plan to offer premium upgrades.

However, customers who don't want to upgrade to these services will continue to enjoy the product, as it is, free of charge.

and

How long do you keep my files for?

As long as you want. There is no limit.

All taken from here:

virtualvault.freedom2surf.net/Pag…ons

Having used the service to move GB's worth of data to and fro serveral machines I say that this is one of the most useful freebies I've ever come across.

I no longer have to burn CD's or DVD's whenever I want to transfer data from my home PC to my work PC's..

Enjoy!

Edit:

To put this into perspective, digitalvault.bt.com only gives out 1GB of free storage to non BT Broadband customers.

Sooooo slooooooooowwwwwww!

Voted hot! Its looks great to me, plus I've tried uploading and its going pretty quickly so thoroughly recommended :-)

if there are no speed, security or (in)accessibility issues then this looks superb.
definitely voted hot - one of the best freebies I have ever seen on this forum. thanks mattykan

I've tried it out ... it looks AWESOME so far... I have uploaded various files already with ease. If you have a quick connection, then this is really useful ie im at a university so therefore its uploading around 1mb every two seconds ...mind you its even quicker when you are downloading obviously

Great find, will pass this on to family & friends, voted HOT

not bad deal, i use yousendit.com for the odd

Cheers, OP !

Very useful. :-D

Fantastic deal, thank you !

This looks great. I find it strange that it's free though. Doesn't make sense. How do they get their money?

very slow.

thanks for this.. a very good find! A bit slow uploading at the moment but I guess this is a because everyone is trying it out...

I would worry about keeping files here INSTEAD of on my H/Drive.

Good as a backup in case of HD crash.

Do you think it might be sponsored by EMI or other companies looking for illegal software?

Just a thought.

Way slow! The storage is free but they're goin to offer premium access at a later date.

Incidentally, it doesn't let you upload folders - only single files. Bit pish if your'e wanting to host a website...

if you dont need unlimited storage (you probably dont ) then try out Steekr

1GB free and very good interface options including your online drive appearing in my computer and you can easily upload folders.

plus its fast.

Uploading a 6GB photo folder now, pretty slow on my BE connection, but can't argue for free. 31MB in about 5 minutes.

if anyone is worried about uploading personal or music files, then use truecrypt

www.truecrypt.org

I always use this on all memory keys and online storage sites.

"HUMYO reserves the right to alter, to depart from or to cease offering the HUMYO Services free of charge at any time. HUMYO will inform Members by email if a service is to be offered in the future for a fee. "

This is just a catch and hang trick by the look of it. Stick 15TB online for £5k and fill it, then charge to keep it once it's full with 10000's peoples data who expected it to be free forever.

Dreamhost or site5 or servage is a better option IMHO, at least they have a business model that scales and some of them support web-dav too.

A bit slow uploading but hey it's free and it's great, just copy entire folders(which you can do, I have) such as my documents and let it do its stuff while you carry on working on your pc, brilliant.

Have not tried this yet, but would be a bit concerned about possible security issues. Any experts out there who could comment?
First post - have been pretty impressed with some of the deals - this is not a criticism of the poster, purely a concern from someone who is paranoid about security!!:w00t:

Taken from virtualvault.freedom2surf.net/Pag…ons

How do I download whole folders/multiple items to my PC?

You can click on files one by one to download them.

Our vision is to be the single location in your life where you store your files, so instead of adding the ability to download files on mass, we will be spending our time adding features so that you don't ever need to! You can already open files directly from your F2S Virtual Vault space and will soon be able to edit them online too.

The other option is to share them out to a specified user under "my friends" then send yourself an email for that user..

yep annoying as hell! Good site but this really lets it down. :?

Halfway through a 2GB upload and it hangs, losing all that is uploaded, needs an upload manager.

I uploaded two individual (MP3 album) folders one after the other no problem, then selected four of my folders together (CTRL-click) for upload and it's made a right mess. Six tracks from various albums have ended up in the 'Unknown' folder, there seems no way to move them and they won't delete.

Not impressed. :x

Be careful of this company, a few years back they hosted a paid-for website of mine and they managed to wipe all the data and didn't have a backup. Despite my complaints about this they never did apologise or explain why they didn't backup their data, they just ignored my emails. Very poor customer service, perhaps they have changed for the better since then but if this is free don't rely on it.

only 10mb limit per file though, none of my "artistic" videos are that small :whistling:
