Got this information in an email from Vodafone, not much good to me as I have a pay monthly contract but think for those of you on Pay As You Go it may be worth a shot:

With this Pay as you go SIM, just top up £10 and get 1,000 free minutes of calls to everyone on Vodafone for 30 days in addition to your credit. If you top up again during the 30 days, you'll get another 1,000 free minutes to chat away in the following month. Plus you get all this:

No long term contract
Keep your number
Vodafone's dependable network
No strings attached, just top up and go
Get great Freebee Rewardz whenever you top up

Already a Vodafone Pay as you go customer? Call 4352 free from your Vodafone mobile to opt in.

Don't want much do ya? LOL. I'll see if I can figure out how to change it especially for you...
Cold. Giffgaff does free calls/texts from gg to gg and you only have to top up every 3 months (can be £5 rather than £10), also their sim cards are free.

you can get any sim card for free.
or go through quidco (and I assume tcb) and get paid for doing so.
This is called top up and get... You can also opt in to get international calls or text messages with Internet... Unlike the Vodafone to Vodafone calls you get more the more you top up (on top of your credit)... I think it's sometime like 60 international mins for £10, 100 for £15 and 240 for £30. Texts/Internet is 300text 50mb for £10, 500txt 100mb for £15 and 3000text 500mb for £30. Feel free to correct me on this as I'm doing it from memory.
Should have said... You can only get one: vf2vf, txt/web or international. Also they don't work with freedom freebies.

I don't know what Giffgaff does, as stated in the initial post, I'm on a pay monthly contract. Everybody's requirements are different and not every tariff is right for every person. I just thought I would share this one for the people who it was appropriate for.
I've been with vodafone less than six months and for the past 6 weeks i've had no network. Over 50 emails back and forthing with customer service "representatives" and over 20 phone calls, even phone calls from CarphoneWarehouse - all fobbed off and hung up on.

Currently looking in to taking it to court as I'm still paying for the contract, so cold from me, not worth it.

Giffgaff is a cracking network - wish i'd stayed with them.

I am surprised to hear that. Between myself and my Fiancé, we have had Vodafone pay monthly contracts for the last 7 years with hardly an issue. When there has been an issue, we have been more than sufficiently compensated without a problem. Had I been in your situation, I would march down to the nearest Vodafone store and put in a complaint, they're usually extremely helpful. Not sure if it would be the same with you getting your contract via the Carphone Warehouse, but I don't see why not, it's still their network that's the problem.
