Indeed but have to praise those airports that do the right thing , money really should not be main reason why we complain, 144,000 bottles saved and doubt this has been here that long
They've had this for years. But good reminder.
Same as Stansted! Started last week next to the arrivals toilets 😳

Has south? Pretty sure has too but can't recall

I always taken one just in case
North has for departures. Not sure about arrivals. Never flown out from South. But have flown back in. Generally fill up from destination departures.
Worth noting. Malta arrivals have tons of water bottles just before control. It was a good gesture esp for hotter climates. Despite some may say it is a waste of plastic. All of this ended up in recycle and saved us buying from shops. Water in hotel tasted funny when ever we had the opportunity to fill up. Hotel only gave water bottles on first day.
Also available just after security (round to the left before you go upstairs) at Luton and in the departure lounges in the toilets at Stansted

No, health should be the reason.
Water is essential to survive, it should not be ransomed. Eco-Wars are second to survival.
Probably a stupid question but what can you fill up is it only a clear bottle or anything?

Anything just a water fountain can drink without a bottle or place under sensor, fill up suitcase if you like
Could I take an empty Evian bottle through security and fill it?

We had empty bottle removed when it showed up in their scanners
East midlands also has water dispenser just after security, we always take a couple of empty bottles through secuity now :-)

good point, wont security just remove the bottle, even if it's empty.

Can’t drink the water in Malta straight from the tap.

Thanks.

They have drinking machines for breakfast which dispense cold water and supposedly use same water to mix juices.

Can’t see why as you can buy bottled drinks after security ?

As long as it’s empty it’s ok.

No, you've always been able to carry an empty plastic bottle through security, Bristol has a water refill too, past security.

The problem is, it's easy to forget that you filled it and forget to drink it before going through security, set a reminder on your phone.

It is permitted.

caa.co.uk/Pas…th/

Last item in the list.

However, note that other countries may differ, so on your return you might have it taken from you. I have seen others with their bottles taken from them abroad.

It is something I find stupid, though. We have a limit on liquid, but no rule on an empty bottle. So whatever is dangerous to be having in large quantities can just be brought through in small quantities and poured into a big container.

We were stopped whilst flying out from Heathrow. Security made a big fuss about it and treated my son like a criminal!

Well that’s more to do with the fact that tap water will make you violently ill there
South as well.

I do it all the time (not evian though - I'm not that posh! ) . Have the bottle in your hand as you enter the security checking area, rather than hiding it in a bag, so that they can see that the bottle is empty. You'll still have to put it through the scanner, but security will let it through.

Thank you!
I do love an Evian bottle
Great so a basic human right is now free....... Just shows the extent by which the people have been brainwashed by the elite. Bottled water along with ink cartridges are just 2 of the biggest consumer scams in history. The worst being central banking and interest........

My mate brought an empty hip flask through security with no problems. Just leave it out along with your other liquids and laptops/ phones ect as you go through the scanner. He wasn't even questioned about it.

Look up Henry Ford's famous quote on banking and the monetary system. If the people knew how it worked there would be a revolution by morning. Life would then be one big party my friend.......
Can you actually drink water? - I've see what fish do in it !!

That's odd, I've taken empties through stansted, Gatwick N and S, lanzarote and fuertaventura in the last few months without any problem. I do put the empty into the tray (along with a Robinson's Squash'd to add some colour and flavour) with all the other bits and pieces. Also if you have the brass neck, use an oasis bottle and ask at one of the pubs for some ice to put in it.

You would have been ok if you’d tried to carry novichok in your luggage though
Same at Heathrow, think I posted one of these over a year back
