Was looking for a timer to make sure I don't spend too long in the shower and noticed that there were some timers branded by water companies. Then I found this website, where you can type your post code in and it shows you what you can get for free!

Mobile users: Type your postcode in the second postcode box down the page, under "Order your FREE water saving devices".

I could get most of the following for free in South Staffs:

Why save water, I do not have a water meter

exactly! In fact all you achieve by turning taps on and off is wearing them out quicker, requiring frequent expensive replacement! Save real money by just leaving the taps on, and never again have to worry about replacing worn out taps!

No problem and that's great to hear . There is a short documentary …No problem and that's great to hear . There is a short documentary called Seaspiracy on Youtube that's worth watching.

After you’ve watched that, whatever you do, dont watch vegspiracy

LPT: If you turn off your water at the stop tap you can save 100% usuage!

Thanks for posting plumbus, not really sure why this is getting cold votes. Free is always good IMO.

Thanks! I watched Cowspiracy and try not to eat meat now, usually only give in on a weekend at a meal out or something, but mostly just fish.

united utilities gave me one of those shower heads but in the instructions it said not to be used with electric showers so a complete waste of time

This post is an announcement, the items are not free, no one is able to take up all the freebies from all the water companies.
Each customer pays for these items through his/her water bill.

Save water have you seen the weather ? More chance of flooding than a drought

Thanks op. Ordered a few things. Gonna be trialing a water meter in the near future to see if I can lower my annual bill. This might help.

Northern Ireland is totally free from water? That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about potatoes to dispute it.

Hi the responses are confusing
Are these actually free or does it get. Charged to our utility bill

They are free. I ordered few items last year and the quality is actually good

Best way to limit your water consumption is to have a meter fitted.

And spend the cash on spelling software.

I had one of the shower regulators from my local water supplier, it made the output of the shower so pathetic I couldn't bare to use it (pun not intended).

I've also tried the ones you fit to your tap, they're not too bad, makes the water come out like a spray and more forcefully than normal.

As for the cistern bag, again I've tried something similar, there wasn't enough of a flush to even clear a #1 so had to flush twice, another useless water saving device.

Why would you want to reduce water usage? it's all going to end up in the sea one way or another.

Thames Water used to offer some of these (as I use a few items I ordered in the past), but don't seem to at the moment based on he postcode check I just did on the website (which surprises me a bit).

Sadly no freebies in Wales

"Your water company does not offer FREE products..."

Southern Water don't partake in water saving it appears.

I had the tap inserts which sprayed water everywhere in the kitchen so removed them. Also had in bathroom sink where taps have recently been replaced without them and they work so much better now. As for the toilet modification - the flush was ridiculous!

When I got a smart water meter installed, by Anglian water, I got a washing up bowl, shower timer and a sink strainer. Use a shower timer for cooking - works well.

Removing water flow restrictor and will do the job... You not gonna save any water but will have a new shower head.

The water has to be in a reservoir though. Water falling on the streets or going directly to the sea doesn't help in the least. It also costs energy to treat and pump water.

How do you get the items to add to the basket? Keeps saying basket empty? Is there a way to register?
Thanks
