In 1815, the bravery and gallantry of the ‘Waterloo Men’ changed our history forever. To celebrate the bicentenary of this defining moment, a commemorative Waterloo Campaign Medal is offered as a free gift to British citizens.

Minted in solid bronze
Minted in solid bronze as originally intended in 1815, the medal bears the exact design of the campaign medal awarded to the veterans of the Battle of Waterloo.

One free medal per household
Due to the strictly enforced issue limit, we can allow only one (1) FREE commemorative Waterloo Campaign Medal per household on a first-come-first-served basis.

After trying to sell other items with a YES Please and No Thanks options it takes you to a sales page that list an extra £2.95 for a non=optional Official Certificate of Authenticity and historical documentation. So the true price is actually £5.45

Just remember this is NOT the Royal Mint.
It is a private company.

Be careful with this company, they have a habit of sending you unsolicited extra coins at extortionate prices.

and they will spam you and keep sending coins with invoice to pay.

Also, "The Royal Appointment" does not belong to them.
They use a supplier who has the "warrant" for legitimate use.
Anyone can have a medal made by their supplier.
A bunch of misleading scamsters.:(

From memory, for genuinely unsolicited goods, you are obliged to keep items for a reasonable time to allow the sender to arrange for their return, after which time, you can dispose of them by whatever means you want. You can even charge them for storing their goods.
Just be very careful what you're signing up for and keep copies of all communications.

After trying to co...er.....sell the punter other items it adds an non optional certificatte to the price

Sorry to hear you're both having problems with this. The Certificate of Authenticity is an optional extra, so it shouldn't show up in the shopping cart. Just click the grey 'No, thank you' button.

Sent for the free waterloo campaign medal (£2.50 postage) and decided to have the "certificate of authenticity" @ £2.95 which turns out to be a useless folder containing the medal with 5 other empty places so you "can add" to your collection. Bloody disgrace. If they send me anything else without my action I will e-mail them (archived) advising they can collect it if they want them back. Bloody scam artists

Its a complete load of rubish as it is not free. I just went on there to order my free medal but all of a sudden just as I was about to click comfirm order there is a charge of £15. Not free compete scam.

speaking for myself, i haven't had any problems with the london mint office. i'm not sure where ggw23 gets this charge of £15 from.

SCAM - AVOID - PARASITES

Thanks for all the notes. Just seen the TV advert and thought it looked to good to be true. Changed my mind now and won't bother

Just went to order mine with the optional certificate and the price had shot up to £15.50?

Well this post has changed my mind - thank UKHD!

big con

Omg! Really a con?
Wish I saw this page first before ordered. Just paid for p&p £2.50 nothing more for a free waterloo mint. But saw the old man in the TV advertising a while ago few times on commercial adverts. It said : One household only and Limited so made me take noticed or else I would ignored it.
Hope they would not spam me in email or by post, I don't have the attention nor available for them. Tell me what to do if they do?!

Merry

What a load of rubbish. When you go to payment page all of a sudden the medal is £12.95, supposed to be free. RIP OFF MERCHANTS!

They will probably keep sending you coins and charge you for none returns

You`ll note they automatically include a guide which is where the extra comes from

Both myself and my daughter ordered the FREE medal plus the folder at a cost of £5.45. Had an email to confirm the order. Neither of us have received the items and when I emailed the LMO attaching the original order they say they cannot locate any order from me, but, if I wish to proceed with an order I can phone them on an 0845 number. oO

i have ordered this and received it paying only £2.50. i got the coin folder free cant understand y everyone getting charged for it.

I thought the same thing but realised that i selected one of the other optional offers by accident. If you go back through and say no thanks to everything apart from the certificate of authenticity and it should be £5.45.

I ordered the duke of Wellington gold 3mths ago and have NOT received it.have been fobbed off for 2mths they say that it should take3-5 days to be delivered that was a joke think the whole company is run by muppets
I think that this is a scam and they WILL NOT give me my money back

If you pay for something by credit card you can initiate a chargeback. If you use a credit card, the credit card company is also responsible I believe. Plus, companies really hate it when you use a charge back because it makes them look bad and they stand to lose the rights to accept such payment if too many disgruntled buyers request charge backs. It helps keep dodgy companies on their toes. Glad I read this site. I wanted a medal but now I'm going to give it a miss so thanks to the people who left info. To the company selling this medal, if what people are posting is true, buck your ideas up!

Just seen the TV ad and was going to order, but it seemed too good to be true and so it seems, thank heavens I looked here first, I will not be ordering now and telling my friends not to either.
Thanks guys.

Glad I read all your comments I was going to order a Waterloo coin but not now.cheers

VERY GLAD TO READ YOUR COMMENTS JUST GOING TO ORDER, WONT BOTHER NOW.

Hi I don't have an account. I would like updates.
Thanks

You people, read the small print and say no to everything making sure you untick and tick the relevant boxes. You don't even need to pay until you receive it!

I ordered the first medal with folder, received it no problem. I then ordered the other medals ( except the gold one as I think that's too expensive ) they never arrived. I contacted The London Mint Office and let them know. They kept in touch with me constantly, enquiring if I had received them. They finally sent them by courier when they still hadn't arrived after a few weeks. They are a little expensive only being bronze but I wanted them. I can only say that with me they have been as good as I hoped they would be. Sorry to hear others are having problems. I only wish they would reproduce the last medal in bronze / silver as that would make completing the collection easier on the pocket.

will people ever learn?

IF anyone is considering this offer... And if you value your privacy, I'd urge you to think again!
reading the small print, they WILL gather your details, and they WILL send YOUR details to Survey companies!

IF you 'Agree' to receive the medal, YOU GIVE YOUR PERMISSION to them, to use your details!!!

I have the bronze 200 medal and booklet? with room for 5 extra medals what are they and the cost?

I have to say I got this through TCB with a small profit after cashback. Cashback was received nice & quick, no problems.

Got a few surveys, truth be told, but I just tell them to naff off

If it sounds too good to be true......
