Wonder why the cold votes, is it just because it's norton or is it just the kids voting on this so their parents don't install it ??? :w00t::whistling:

Just Norton I reckon. I have always hated and will hate Norton and am so glad I changed to another Antivirus.

No reason for this to be voted cold. Free and useful for families for online content monitoring and filtering.

Norton is fine, it's not like it used to be pre 2009, the newer software versions are all very good and feature highly in security reports, and this free web monitoring software is very good.

its a hog, pure and simple memory hog, full of loopholes and bugs
collects info without asking.

it will never be good, people who say they are good have never used decent software.

try nod32 and then tell me norton good

But this is not antvirus software it is a web filtering software to try and keep children safe online !!!

But ramiuk1, if you are on about antivirus suites I was reading PC advisor last night and the latest tests for NOD32 did not come out very well !! But I don't use Norton or NOD32, I use Viper but like I said that is a completly different product to the FREE one been offered here.

I also don't have kids but when I was setting up my niece's and nephew PC's I did look around for a good web filtering software and they all seemed to be lacking unless I paid; But the Norton product seems to have all the stuff that the paid ones offer and more !!! and I wil recommend it to those who are concerned about their kids safety online !!

False, Norton is not a hog, neither is it full of bugs.

I have used just about every Antivirus / Internet Security software available as I have them all sent to me to try every year with the hope that I might resell their products.

Norton is currently the fastest, smoothest and overall best for detection rates.

This particular free software is however for web filtering so is nothing to do with Antivirus etc, however you shouldn't put people off unless you have tried and tested yourself.
