Lovely to see something offered to all key workers, not just NHS staff!

I wouldn’t want to take anything away from NHS staff, and acknowledge the great job they are doing, but it’s nice to see others recognised too.

Nice cheery post for a Saturday morning
Ok, this has definitely got to be the most morbid of giveaways for NHS staff...
It's less morbid than an NHS worker leaving their family in despair because they didn't have one. Heat added

I was a bit shocked when it cropped up on my Facebook feed this morning.

These services are usually around £150 I think so it’s a good saving.

Probably never a good time to discuss Wills but it’s sensible to have one.

This offers a huge saving.

lovely. Does sound a bit 1984 though.

Has anyone else noticed the spike in happy life insurance adverts? I hate those things.

And charity appeals to coincide with everyone getting their furlough payments in. Though the charity angle doesnt bother me at all, all good if they can survive.

Who came up with rainbows for NHS?

Rainbows come after a storm.

Children have been putting them up to support NHS, to give hope through this difficult time.

OK I get that, but some one must off came up with the idea, as a gay man, anything rainbow posted on this site people go nuts, no disrespect obviously to the NHS, with all the rainbows in my community windows I like the support, but if I put out a rainbow flag, heads will turn

Just good old fashioned double standards.

People aren't associating the rainbow with the lgbt community. Because the NHS link is being shoved down their throats.
Also the NHS isn't seen as a bad thing like lgbt is (by some) which is why heads aren't being turned.
thanks for sharing I am thinking of making one.........

Disagree and also agree, but I'm not getting into a debate, as comments will be deleted soon no doubt
Great idea, if the doctors and nurses can take time away from their hectic schedules of eating free donuts and choreographing tic toc videos

Taken from the same type of deal a week ago ”We and a lot of other firms provide the will writing service for free, it’s the storage, updates, probate etc. that usually cost”.
So it would seem like they are just getting people through the door to make themselves money.

"Seems to be a PR stunt more than anything - I don’t know many firms who charge more than £50 to simply write the will"

But yeah not worth getting into any kind of debate over.

I thought this too. Always identify the rainbow with gay pride so have thought this a few times when seeing the rainbows everywhere. Hey ho, lets celebrate gay pride at the same time
Good for the NHS workers, allocate all the freebies to the right person.

I've been wondering that.
Why rainbows when it has been associated wit the gay community for so long.

I always associate it with a bear who walks around naked all day then puts pyjamas on to go to bed a talking pink hippo and a zippy which ive spent my adult life convinced is a gimp!

Is it, and how would you feel if you had a relative dying in one of those hospitals and the nursing staff were dancing instead of attending to patients?

They are on their breaks or at the start and the end of shifts. Some of the staff can't even go home to their own families, some have been away 6 weeks now staying on the hospital site many working 12 hours shifts day after day with few rest days.

Can you imagine what they have had to see on the ICU's where some won't be familiar working.

Your families are been looked after all the time no one would be left alone.
If any NHS employee takes up this offer make sure that Accord Legal do not add themselves as executor. Many of these free will writing services are set-up to make their money when the will is executed, the solicitor or legal firm charge a percentage of the estate value. The worst thing is that they don't actually do anything for this charge, they tend to simply appoint a member of the family to do all the work.
Bet there are a few people getting this sorted for when they croke it and the state pays out 60k

I'm on the firm, not my usual but, transferable skills. Drug em up, venting and see where it goes.
A few pillow plumps.
I'm not likely to pop my clogs though, so no 60,000 sheckles for me.
Tough time for anyone who gets it.
Anyone have a will with these guys?
1 Would you trust any company that uses a premium rate number as its main contact number - 0843 506 5115?

2 Likewise a company that recruits people like this to do the work:

Work with Accord Legal Services today!

Being a Will Consultant is a rewarding and unique career. You’d be responsible for visiting clients in their homes, discussing their estate planning and ensuring they make the right Will for their circumstances. This allows them to secure the proper level of protection for their assets.

You don’t need to be a solicitor, or have any legal training whatsoever. We provide a comprehensive training course, after which you’d be fully qualified and ready to start seeing clients.

3 Likewise any company that, unlike a solicitor, doesn't have anything to fall back on if things go wrong and you end up with an invalid or inappropriate will.

Save a couple of hundred quid maybe - but at the risk of tens of thousands if things go wrong?
Hi I am a director at Accord and thought I’d respond to some comments

Our 0843 is not set to a premium rate at all we do not charge a service fee on this number

All of our consultants are recruited based on knowledge and experience and are fully trained, examined and crb checked. In addition a we have a legal team and STEP qualified lawyers at Head office. We have written thousands of Wills and have many years experience between us

We are members of the Institute of Professional Will Writers and Trading Standards approved. As such have a strict code of compliance and carry high levels of professional indemnity insurance

We have already helped hundreds of nhs staff and other key workers and have been in the paper and on Good morning Britain and itv news for this genuine offer!

We do not write ourselves in as executors nor are there any hidden costs - we just felt we wanted to do something good for key workers at this time

Totally agree! I know someone who went on a course for 3 days now writes wills for people. You think you are dealing with a big legal company but they just have a bunch of small self employed con men who buy the leads from them. Sounds like they play the long game, basically trick you into signing them up as executor of the will and when you die they are in the money! The guy is very pushy! They are paying for the leads so want to talk you into having them as executor to make maximum money. Wouldn't trust him to write a Tesco shopping list let alone a will.

If you want a will go to a solicitors.
