Where did you get this info from?

will this be available for existing Broadband customers or for new customers?

good luck getting anything out of virgin's customer services. they'll probably end up cancelling your account if you actually ask for anything off them. :-|

it is the retension dept you should be speaking to not customer services, the option when it says "are you thinking of leaving ntl/virgin media"

dammit, i just connected to virgin the other day! finally moved into a house in a cabled area, so signed up for the L package.. so far so good - installation was tidy and painless, and getting excellent download speeds.. a wireless router would have been nice though!

As far as I know it will be available to ALL customers on the L and XL broadband packages including existing and new customers. My friend in residential sales told me about the free router.

If I get any more information I'll add to the post.

Virgin unofficially had this deal back in December (NTL/Telewest then). They sent out a handful of routers, then received some complaints that by default the routers were blocking certain ports.

Ceased sending them out and they were waiting for firmware upgrades... I did give my name to be informed when they would be resending but never heard from them

They also did this a year or so ago and gave out the Netgear WGR614 (b/g) router. The deal then was that as long as you promised to stay with them for another 12 months you got the router.
I've found it to be a very good model - it works fine with all the Wifi capable stuff in my house DS/PSP/Ipod Touch/Mac/Receiva Radio/Wii/PS3 as well as routing stuff to the 360/Xbox1/PC/NAS via Network cables.

They were giving these away months ago i got one i'm on 4meg bb its been posted on here before.

Damn i just invested £40 in a new router just 4 days ago! Ill return that one and see if Virign will send me one if i pretend to cancel.
