This does tie you into a subscription by direct debit. It states 12 month minimum subscription.

Not correct. Just cancel the direct debit before the 3 months is up. You're not tied into anything.

Yes this will probably work. I was just stating what it says on the website. I have done deals like this before and not seen that mentioned.

Just to be safe I would wait until the first one gets delivered (ie they have processed the order)
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EVER EXPERIENCED .... stopped sending my sons magazines three times without reason and after spending 45mins on the phone each time was advised they'd lost my credit card details...THREE TIMES !

Follwing is an extract from their website:

DIRECT DEBIT
You can also choose to pay for some magazine and newspaper subscriptions by Direct Debit. Depending on the magazine or newspaper, your payments will be spread into easy, manageable 3, 6 or 12 monthly payments. As Direct Debit is a continuous payment method you are in complete control of your subscription as well as eliminating the need for renewal notices.

Please note that the publishers stipulate a 12 month minimum term for all Direct Debit orders.

They can stipulate whatever they like, it's not contractual or remotely enforceable. Seems somewhat at odds with their other claim that 'you are in complete control of your subscription'

Ie everybody can cancel the direct debit without a second thought, you are not in any way obliged or contracted to keep it going for 12 months. You have not signed up for 12 months so why anybody would remotely worry about this is completely beyond me.
Not overly new - been around for some two and a half years.

Oh and surprise surprise ...
... Dennis Publishing.

This is a weekly magazine, so 6 issues for 6 weeks. Don't wait 3 months to cancel as you will be charged.

cancel before 6 weeks is up at latest
I went for this deal on 20th March and still not received an issue. Awaiting a response from the seller.
Received a letter today, 2 and half months after signing up, saying subscription will start from issue dated 19th May. 1st payment to be taken on the 28th June. Still not received any magazines.
