70000 volunteers needed - games will collapse without them

Seb Coe has stated that volunteers will not get free tix - just the satisfaction of being part of it

so all the millions spent on CONsultants and they are relying on the volunteers jeez!!

just hoping we manage to get some tickets

I signed up as a volunteer a while ago for both games, just waiting now. Hoping for tix too.

same here i register a few years ago, get an email update every time and something through the post - we live just beside it. think it's shameful that you cant get a ticket. people taking time off work just to ensure it doesnt fall flat on our face basically lol. i'd like the consultants to spend a bit more time volunteering too!

and ... boris' current term as mayor of london finishes just before the olympics time, may 2012. good luck london!

Whilst countless 1000's in corporate seats laugh their asses off at the peasants working for nothing

Put in for tickets cool!

not voting as dont particularly want the games here...

they need freebies cos they spent all the money on consultants and corporate

It's lovely the way the Olympics has given "back up" so local grass roots sports in east London can prosper (not!)

Local sports participation couldn't drop much further, surely?

Lots of people in east London applied for jobs when they started building the London Olympic site, but were not even invited for interviews (they preferred to get in all their labour from other countries)!

So if Seb Coe and his gang of cronies expect east London's locals (who were not good enough to be employed when they were building the site) to come along and work for free instead, they've got another think coming!
