You need to go through Google checkout to get a tenner off (it's a promo Google are doing just now).

got myself the seagate..... simply amazing find.....

Thxxx guys

Personnelly I would spend a bit more and get a different make.

I have one of these exact drives and it has a really major niggle - windows doesn't recognise the drive after each boot up if the drive is already on, you have to turn the drive off and on to get windows to recognise it again. It is maybe that I truecrypt all my external drives and this drive just doesn't like it but I dont have any problems with my other 2 external drives (a Seagate and a Toshiba).

Also the drive is pretty big, its more like a 3.5 drive caddy than a external drive and its a god damn ugly brute

Spend a few extra quid and get the Western Digital from Ebuyer instead for £5 more.

Link to the WD drive in question - ebuyer.com/UK/…761

Can anyone who has purchased one of these tell me if it's easy to remove the drive from the Freecom caddy?is it sealed? i'm after a cheap 500GB IDE drive but it seems to to be cheaper (or not much more) to get an a USB one and take the HDD out...

Cheers
