No the basic 200 plan is free £0 monthly.

OP you didn't add the relevant information to your post.

Haha might want to edit that '2250gb' to 2.25gb

How easy is it to cancel the additional charges to just get the free sim? I have a microphone that I'm going to leave in my car and the free sim sounds appealing for emergencies.

Fairly easy on the my account section. But I'm leaving to Life as the issues FP have are really annoying me.
Sigh. Just search freedompop on here to see how bad they are.

What issues are these? I'm literally not planning to use the phone with it other than keep the SIM alive.

I don't always recive text or people don't get mine. Takes a while to connect a call and there is a delay when talking and on occasions calls don't get through. Have to always remember to turn on data when leaving the house.

Yes, that is correct. We use VoIP for our FreedomPop phone service, not traditional cell service.

You are more than welcome to downgrade to our Free Plan at any moment without incurring any fees.

be aware that you do require an internet connection to use the VoIP
Have used 'free' FP for a few months now. Agree the phone/text thing isn't perfect so I carry two phones. One for phone calls (with a regular 321 SIM) and one (with the FP SIM) for internet access. This way when I'm waiting ages for the wife to come out of the M&S changing rooms, I have something to do and it costs nothing!

In that case for an emergency phone I think I'll skip. Thanks for the heads up.

Glad we could help pass the time!
I have used FreedomPop for a few weeks and besides the occassional poor phone call quality/lag, everything has been fine. Most of my calls have been OK, I sometimes have to repeat myself, but can usually hear the other end fine, texts arrive/send like normal and there's the 200MB of 4G data. Not sure why it gets such bad press.
It won't work on windows phones or tablets either, will it and they can change prices at any time as well I believe? If they didn't keep your payment details I'd be more confident but would worry about them charging me for extras or price changes without my prior knowledge.

Looks like it is here.
However for existing users (I am 1) have 2 buy a seperate sim card & use a different email address as it seems to bug when trying to use an existing one
