Nice Deal, I think next year these will go dirt cheap..

It's about time $$$ky dropped the £10 extra charge for having HD.

Anyone got one? How is it? Slow?, up-datable? crashes?
Thanks Babby blue Beer

Thanks OP been looking for a cheap Freeview HD box.

Cheapest i've seen is £180 for Freeview+ HD boxes I bet they are very cheap to manufacture, this is £39, all you need is another tuner and a hdd and a few extra components. I want a dual tuner freeview+ HD PVR for £99 that can also play xvid .avi, .mp3, .jpg files from a usb port and i'd be very happy.

That's what I'm hoping for as well, sure as eggs it will happen..

Thanks I have ordered one as I do not have HD in my household yet.

BBC HD will be lovely.

you get: BBCHD, BBC1HD, ITVHD, CHANNEL4 HD. Over the next few years there will be many more but that is 1 multiplex used, we'd need another free'd up to be able to get more channels, more analog will need to be switched off in order for that to happen.

Thats great four HD channels. I'll be putting this into a room with only freeview in anyway.

Don't rely on that. It all depends on the lay of the land, relay stations and such like.
Tells me I'm ready for Freeview HD but no-one in our village can receive it yet cos the transmitter's on reduced power plus we use a relay station which hasn't been upgraded.

Good price, voted hot.

I'm still trying to find a good price HD freeview recorder because I refuse to pay Sky £10 per month for another room with no HD. I'm far too mean to pay around £200 for a recorder though because I won't use it enough.

Spot on, most will not get it until 2012 when normal tv is switched off and the signal is then boosted.

If you get a poor to average to normal freeview then you may be better getting freesat.

:-)

I read somewhere recently about certain freeview hd boxes being used as pvr's after official firmware updates, as long as they had a USB port. I'm desperately trying to find the article as I could really do with a cheap freeview hd pvr for the bexroom. can anyone shed any light?

at the present time, you only get 3 HD channels on freesat, wished i'd a gone the freeview HD route instead.

i cant get bbc1 and bbc2 on a normal freeview box so no chance of getting hd

Those who got this already, how is the quality?

crackin buy, shame we ave 2 put up with gayenders in HD, well im sure its HD unfortunately, bad enuf in SD pmsl

Good price for HD box but looks cheap

Great price, so heat added. Really annoyed that I can't buy this item; Dixons get a grip and ship to BFPO it's basically the same price as UK shipping!
