Have the previous (Non-HD) model and tv-onics are brilliant easy to use and great interface compared to other freeview boxes.

500GB HDD (around 250 of recordings

This box also has the option to get bbc i player (with a dongle £8.99)

£69.99 for Freeview+ HD is a bargain these are £99 on Amazon and £119 on the official Website!

i bought this from richer sounds at twice the price, this box is fantastic. you wont regret buying it!!

Nice box at a nice price. My in-laws have the other Tvonics HD recorder DTR-HD500 and it has been very stable for them.

Probably best to mention in your title that these are refurbs.

I can't see any mention of what grade refurb it is?

Postage is £2.99 extra!!

will it allow router to be plugged in or wifi?

twin tuna?

Interesting. Was wondering about the Humax T2, but that is more than double the price.

Does anybody know if this can record to an external hard drive? Can you get programmes off it for archiving? And can it record from an input?

Thanks ;o)

tvonics.com went bust, doubt support will exist, don't waste your money, buy Humax or other well known brands would be my advice

Someone bought TVonics and they are supporting them, just visit their website and see they are in discussions to fix an iPlayer problem, so not ignoring people by the looks of it.

btw...Thanks, just bought one.

ive a older model, mainly sony parts in these very stable very user friendly , mine was a refurb I bought from maplins for £29 it looked brand new but mine was sd model

I would ring them and check, website says different, at least you could get full refund from supplier if it goes wrong in guarantee period. If it was me I wouldn't want the hassle, my Humax is 3 years old and only just recently it updated over air to the latest firmware, reassuring to know they bother!

Will this get RTE from Northern Ireland? I've a Ferguson HD box that wouldn't after digital switchover.

My advice would be to do a bit of research before spouting nonsense:

pulse-eight.com/store/

FAO Viewers in Norn Ireland

This box also decodes Saorview so you can watch RTE and other Irish TV channels if your in an area that can pick them up.:D
