Yes, there have been lower prices, but at the moment this appears to beat prices at Waitrose and others

Good quality for under a tenner

All the suppliers noted how Morrisons were the hardest grocery multiple to satisfy and that substandard deliveries were always turned away.

Price for beef gone up, it seems.

For those that can't afford beef, Lidl have pork legs half price £2.99/kg and Morrisons fresh chickens £1.85/kg.

Pork, chicken and beef are mutually exclusive - unless of course you like Ikea meatballs

Tesco finest silverside/topside/top rump is £6 a kilo, Not for the snobs of course. The last lot I had around Christmas cooked just as nice as that from Donald Russel IMO and the peice I had delivered this morning was British beef. Same can't be said of the steak but for the joints I think it holds.

£7/Kg for this cut of meat is NOT a great deal.

Its a very good deal if you buy this regularly, half price or full price hummm tough one.

I got the tesco one this morning for £6 per kg.
2.2kg = 15mins @ 240 fan, then 11mins per pound @ 160 fan (450g ish) cooks it rare any longer than that and i'd call it a waste of beef. Its about half the time of the packet timings but trust me its the only way. Doesn't matter what the weight is just follow the above.

Talking about the type of beef - silverside isn't exactly a prime cut of beef - so I wouldn't expect to pay any more than £7/Kg for it - that's my point.

There's no way silverside is £14/Kg normally, that's the cost of rump steak on average at a supermarket.

Would still go for brisket at this price TBH. More flavour, and both need slow cooking anyway for best results.
