Fresh cashback opportunities in-store at Aldi & Lidl (etc) with CheckoutSmart App

Recently Quidco's ClickSnap added Lidl & Aldi to their list of supermarkets at which they offered £back opportunities for scanning/uploading a receipt showing qualifying purchases and there was a brief window with a couple of offers, now lapsed though Aldi/Lidl continue to show in the list of stores..

The firm Checkout Smart Ltd, that appears to provide Quidco's ClickSnap system, are branching out for themselves with their CheckoutSmart application and today there are 7 offers at Aldi and 6 at Lidl running for upto 4 days more.

PLUS the offers on CheckoutSmart seem to vary a bit from the offers on ClickSnap, so EXTRA opportunities for cashback at the big-5 supermarkets

When I COULD see the menu/T&Cs on CheckoutSmart App (I've now lost the menu on my phone for some reason), I did see that you are NOT able to claim (let alone double-claim for the same item) with a single receipt on BOTH CheckoutSmart and ClickSnap, - the T&Cs as I recall them said receipt can only be uploaded to ONE system not BOTH.

Personally only discovered CheckoutSmart here on HUKD a few days ago with discussions of £back on a Fairy liquid purchase, now lapsed. I'm having some technical issues with the app's menu vanishing on my phone, and they seem to have a rather different payout model to Quidco, so I'll leave it to you to assess if valid/worthwhile but Lidl/Aldi shoppers at least are definitely after a money saving opportunity like this, and any extra £back opportunities at the Big-5 supermarkets may be handy, including for those not on Quidco for whatever reason.

As I emphasise above I don't KNOW anything about Checkout Smart Ltd and the app doesn't have many downloads yet (on Android anyway), but Googling doesn't make one worried, just unsure.
Anyone actually had any £back from them ? From memory the payout threshold was only £1...

I can see it might complicate life at the checkout (all for the sake of a few x 10-20-30p) in wanting to buy in two separate lots so have ONE receipt for items to ClickSnap and ANOTHER receipt for items to CheckoutSmart... [and if you're really lucky also be able to Shopitize them if/when there's overlap].

I was only prompted to post about it this evening because of the 'new' Aldi/Lidl opportunities, which aren't there (tonight) on ClickSnap = new Lidl/Aldi savings at least... but potentially upto c£1.85 saved on a shop you were making anyway!

To help people know if offers likely to be of interest to them:
ALDI 7 offers: Kinder egg 25p; the rest being supermarket own brand...
4 pts semi-skimmed milk 20p; 3 pack brown onions 25p {do they sell in 3s?}; carrots 1kg 25p {sell 1kg bag?}; garlic 4 pack 20p {?}; diced beef 400g 50p; tomato puree 200g 20p.
LIDL 6 offers: as for Aldi less Kinder egg.
Certainly the milk = claimable

It will look VERY familiar to Quidco's ClickSnap users - just recoloured title bar I think - plus varying £back offers/data.

Quidco do integrate ClickSnap into their website, so you can upload a scan/photo of a receipt using their website rather than needing to use the App, that requires a SmartPhone/Tablet), whereas CheckoutSmart seem to be App only with token website.

Should be moved to Freebies

Got the app (NExus 4) but get a loading page error on the first screen. I ignored that and went to create an account and it hangs on loading the account holder agreement...doesn't inspire me with confidence (_;) I do my big shop tonight and I usually buy some of those items.

don't know if I should vote cold or hot

Does not say Aldi or Lidl!!
only the big 4, Supermarkets and app looks same a click snap

This looks good (find Aldi/Lidl on the offers page filter at the top left).
i do my main shop at Aldi, is there a definitive app or do they all have different offers? What should I download?

Just uploaded the receipt and it took 3 attempts! Don't know whether it's phone dependent (I have a S2), but it took a little while to upload, so my screen switched off and when I switched it back on it seemed to cancel the upload. Solution was just to make sure the screen stays on whilst uploading (by touching it every few seconds). Once they are submitted you will get an email straightaway so if you don't get that it probably hasn't uploaded. I've done done ones for lidl and sainsbury's so will see how quickly they get processed.

I've used it and got feedback

As I said above it allegedly is from the people who provide the technology behind Quidco's ClickSnap and looks the same except different colour scheme (and more intrusive advertising!).
Don't know why you wouldn't be seeing all the supermarkets as the RETAILER filter clearly shows:
Sainsburys
Tesco
Asda
Waitrose
Morrisons - ie Big-5 not 4
Aldi
Lidl = 7 retailers
And as at this afternoon my app is currently showing 6 offers valid for 3 days for Aldi & Lidl [though as mentioned above it MAY only be the 4pts semi-skimmed milk that are able to be redeemed due to how Aldi/Lidl package their veg/beef/paste etc.]

I've just installed the app on my other half's S2 as it wouldn't install on my nexus 4. I'll try uploading my receipt later.

Tip: Bit of £back App overlap today... Rankin Irish Soda Bread and Guinness on both CheckoutSmart and Shopitize...
And my CheckoutSmart had developed a free Volvic water ie 68p back (and it was only 65p in Waitrose!)

Delighted to report that CheckoutSmart has proven to be 100% legit so far.
1. Got the on-screen menu back - after updating to latest version if you don't have the horizontal bar/menu button at top left of menu bar, then drag from left edge of screen to see the menu, and from then on the menu button should be there too!
2. Got my first actual pay out - less a 5% payout deduction - to my bank as expected.

And as at today Mon 24/3 - there are half a dozen offers at Aldi/Lidl on CheckoutSmart - including 20p for 4pts semi-skimmed to Wednesday; and Quidco's ClickSnap has 4 offers at them including a cucumber!
Remember you can't use ONE receipt on BOTH systems - ie buy your cucumber separately to get the 15p

The only hint of a bad taste if that REALLY each offer is only 95% of the promised £back due to payout deduction.
So 20p on milk is really 19p, 15p is 14.25p...

Anyone reading this in April - the £back opportunities continue at Aldi/Lidl : milk and various veg/rice on CheckoutSmart App at Aldi/Lidl; and Quidco ClickSnap app/site has 4 fruits. (Successfully claimed for milk & bacon at Aldi on C'o'S last week.)

4/4: eg Got credited today by ClickSnap for purchase of white/green grapes in Aldi few days ago

Just done a whois search as apps are virtually identical and checkoutsmart is owned by Quidco.

http://whois.domaintools.com/checkoutsmart.com

Have tried to upload a receipt to both this and clicksnap to see if I get paid twice...

I got cash back from checkout smart, about £5 and the fees on that were 25p so I got 4.75 at the end.

I checked a couple of weeks ago and they had changed the T&Cs again - and seem to have removed any reference to Quidco/ClickSnap. Bank payments will come from Quidco labelled as CheckOutSmart (my two so far anyway).

So will be particularly interested to see if they pay via both App/Systems for the one receipt

I really dislike their 5% withdrawal tax and given their website includes statements such as 'free Birds Eye..." when it's only 95% free they should be falling foul of Advertising Standards. Something I'll pursue if/when idle time lol.

The app never worked for me. The development team did contact me a couple of times, they kept saying they had fixed the problem, but I still couldn't get it to work, so I gave up in the end.

Just found where the reference to Quidco/ClickSnap has moved to from the T&Cs.

If you go into the App's "FIND OUT MORE" and then "HOW MANY TIMES CAN I CLAIM EACH OFFER?"

It says:
"Please note a single receipt may only be submitted once, whether to CheckoutSmart or our partners (Quidco etc). and will be rewarded only the first time the receipt is uploaded."

Update:
Pleased to say that a single receipt with two potential £backs - ie NOT doubledipping on same item...
a) a ClickSnap 40p for buying X at store Y
b) a CheckoutSmart 25p for a receipt from store Y
have both been confirmed.

So IF they are detecting receipt uploaded twice, they aren't being MEAN with distinct valid £back offers, versus maybe "exploiting" a double-dipping opportunity of the same offer on both ClickSnap/CheckoutSmart.
