Markets always give better value for money but you can't complain at 20p each, still a deal for many...

oh, i agreed it was a good price. but a deal would be significantly better than elsewhere, maybe 10p each? dunno, as those were the first figs I've ever bought (is it fig season by any chance?) so it doesn't strike me as a much better price in my limited experience.

Edit - actually, I must apologise, just checked and it was 4 for a quid from tesco. So. Lidl cheaper than tesco, same price on average for the ten I've bought recently, or more expensive than from the market. But you're right, markets are a variable and local thing, so warmish deal for you.

It is Turkish fig season, and a bumper season at that, lidl will have much larger figs than Tesco as they prefer to sell loose not in a punnet. Market stalls will always be cheaper in a bumper season as lower over heads.

I love fresh figs. Still hot for 20p!

Good price - hot

yay figs

Thanks, I've been waiting for Lidl's fig offer. In the past, I've found them to be some of the best available. Heat!

grow your own - rampant plant which looks nice and takes care of it's self - personally I don't like them but the local old people walk into my drive and help them self's , without asking !

Shoot them.

Some people don't consider figs to be vegan. So there you go.

This is a good video on how to minimise the burn from Figs >

That's due to the wasp larvae in the Figs >

There's insects and insect parts in flour and in chocolate. Most food has some contamination of insects. I personally think that being vegan is not how humans were designed to eat. There's the problem of obtaining Vitamin B12 and the active Omega 3 oils DHA/EPA, they can be converted from plant Omega 3 ALA. Humans evolved to eat a varied diet, we did eat meat, but not in the quantity we eat it now.

They were 3 for £1 in Lidl yesterday. Feeling conned.

The lidl ones are so much better than Tesco, twice the size and much tastier.

As you don't like them it's nice that someone gets to enjoy them...

I agree even though it annoys me slightly the just taking - I sometimes cut the bush right down (just before they are ripe) as they get in the way of my vision when driving out - as yet I have not seen their faces when they first discover the waste , but as it's a big bush I am sure they still find something to keep them regular

I agree, simply helping themselves without permission is not acceptable and I'm sure if they asked you, you wouldn't refuse...

all forgivable as they are old!
